Had a go at it yesterday - felt almost like playing OFP Resistance..... All I miss is the (understandable) radio dialogues and narrative of a campaign.... When they decide to make a campaign using this engine, its going to be really impressive! Perhaps in Arma 4 (hope for a reforger campaign though :D )..

So the game play in the video is not the solo version mentioned in the title. It Multiplayer game play. In the solo game no progress is ever saved.....so you cant play for a few hours. shutdown and then comeback and pick up from where you left off....Why? .....Who does that?......Major oversight.

Another game that this new game mode reminds me of is Ghost recon wildlands and it's sequal breakpoint. Those games have similar mechanics. Namely the hidout system, and friendly ai to help with some objectives. It is very cool to see and is exactly the kind of thing i want from arma pve

@@rampantporcupineandfriends3793 I highly recommend Breakpoint + First Person Mod + Spartan Mode (a mod that makes the game much more similar to an actual tactical shooter, enemies have sharper senses, damage output is increased, etc...). It's very very immersive and you can also sorta roleplay it. Also it can be brutally hard.

I personally have nightmares about my one solo combat op I’ve ran idk why everyone thinks they aren’t a challenge. Now in the multiplayer modded server im on I’ll admit the Russian AI is definitely goofy but when I fought them alone it was terrifying honestly. Granted I haven’t gone solo since playing multiplayer (PvE only for me) but it would seem like every time I even dared to make my presence known let alone taking a shot or two with my m16 then I would have to absolutely circle, displace and generally run for like 5 minutes just for a chance for the AI not to randomly hide in a bush and then blast me when I take one step wrong. Attacking alone is a huge challenge compared to having 20-80 players backing you up haha just saying.

My issue is that ai can spot me from 1,000 meters in a bush with full camo, when I haven't even fired a shot. And then they can shoot the legs off a flea from a mile away. Even cracked players haven't ruined my gameplay as much as the ai seem to be. It's absurd.

Unfortunately you cannot save your progress locally. It's reset on load. So, not suitable for SP yet. Unless, you'll rent a server.

A ghost recon mod type thing would be sick (where ai have blind spots still and not aim bot)(also i mean like shaders wise to make the game look better) it'd also be cool if they made it to where you can give ai voice commands through your mic that would be sick

PVE and PVPVE has a *lot* of potential in Reforger, I'd love to see the Arma 3 "Capture The Island" Gamemode added, where Blufor (or Opfor) go to sectors, Clear them, and finish the objectives, when they are put up against Blu/Opfor AI, Maybe even have some players that can join as the opposing team to defend the sector

I suddenly had an “Arma 1.1 solo campaign for XSX” in my recommended list. I don’t know why it’s taken over a year but I had no idea Arma was on XSX! I’ve even seen Arma videos in the last couple of years but not for Xbox. So now I’m subbing and dinging bells even with non Xbox channels. So erm… hi! Played Operation Flashpoint back in the day and Operation Flashpoint Resistance was so cool. Trying to ambush convois without destroying them and then get the stuff before reinforcments are coming was such a great feeling. As i saw in the comments that this does not really work for solo players. Any workaround for it

I am a bit nervous about the AI update. In most games where they try to make the AI enemies more challenging it just ends up being overpowered, hopefully that isn't the case here.

If they have the same AI adjustment options in Reforger as they had in A3, AI could be made hyper-intelligent or hyper-lethal, or both. There are options for targeting, info transfer, tactics etc. in A3.

So is this an offline co-op thing as well? I feel like that was the biggest flaw on release. You had limited singleplayer stuff, then the online servers. But no inbetween for you to team up with just a few friends to have fun. If thats the case this is even more awesome than I originally thought.

Yeah. This mode is available on the Xbox version now. It plays pretty much the same as well. It changes the feel of Reforger completely.

This has bin a mod for almost 6 months overthrow Everon we want more military type combat ops, options on GM, mission objective props pick ups intel kill HVT, capture objectives etc.... we as game masters can build our own combat ops.

No, no, this is single player my dude. So you can enjoy it alone or with friends. All you gotta do is have Arma Reforger Experimental installed.

Through the Scenario Tab in the main menu thats your single player options, you can do combat ops or if you want to learn how to play conflict, the scenarios offer various flavors of conflict for single player.

You can play solo missions but you can't save your progress yet. There's a save and continue option but they do nothing, you'll have to restart the mission each time :(
