Surely as a player whos grinded through all these ships you would want to at least see its full capabilities right? Why not just make the map bigger? Hell I wouldnt even mind if they simulated a horizon, would give our spotter planes an actual use.

fludblud It's still longer than the ranges of the other ships, and you also need to remember that while the guns could reach 46km, the Yamato's fire control struggled to maintain accuracy even at combat ranges typical of other battleships. The longest recorded ship-to-ship BB hits were by Scharnhorst and Warspite at around 24km each, and even then those are outliers. I can theoretically land a bullet from my Lee-Enfield 2km away, but my chances of hitting even a car-sized target at that distance? Practically nil.

@rossmum Actually she wasn't any worse than other battleships, achieving 500m dispersion at 40km, plus achieving consistent bracketing fire at 30km. She might have had radar controlled FCS, seeing as the IJN had developed it in 1945, and she certainly had the best optics in the world, as the US Naval Technical Mission post war would attest to. Her spotter aircraft were reliable and could actually defend the ship. F1Ms achieved kill counts of even Wildcats as an area defence fighter. And before you talk about Iowa, remember, the Iowa couldn't keep a speed of 32 knots, her boilers couldn't take it, she would've been travelling at about 28-30 knots in a combat situation, and back then her dispersion values were ok among BBs, and her radar only really gave her an edge in stormy weather and night battles, where it can be argued that rough weather could've disabled her radar FCS.

+fludblud At 46km the flight of the shell would be realistically around 95+ seconds with a reload of around 40 seconds at such distance, tbh I wouldnt mind realistic data because players could test their skill and how luck they are to get even one hit. Also despite only two ships in history hitting targets at extreme range, there is always a small possibility of hitting a target at such a distance with deadly consequences. The secondarys could also be made realistic and the RNG removed for a better system. Finally, I agree with a bigger map, increase the battle time and make the capture point in the middle of the map, who ever caps wins.

+fuzzjunky Cruisers and Destroyers are powerful, especially when then can tear up a battleships structure. That was the reason for HMS Belfasts existence. What if you pen the turret when its not facing you? *Boom* Destroyers work well also either in numbers or just scout or assistance role. What I have said of both applies to reality.

I gotta admit, this thing is just insanely solid at her tier at CBT. she virtually wipes out any ship short of tier X out of the water if all nine 18 inch guns connect. it felt glorious when you sailed alongside this thing even as a cruiser screen and it was horrifying to see your allies die when trying to kill it. now though, the Hakuryu can bring back her trauma from Ten-Go since she has a LOT of strike planes she can send her way.

(Sorry for the late reply, real life calls sometimes) No, you don't pronounce a lot of Japanese words based on their romaji as a literal sense. Pronouncing it like Ya-Ma-To is dropping the very vital sound of the U at the end of how it's really pronounced. Say the word "to" by itself, now try the word "tou" (which is very similar to "tow"). For example, I'll use the word "two" in place of "to" because they sound the same... Ya-Ma-Two - See just how wrong that sounds now? Replace the "two" with "tou"... Ya-Ma-Tou Talk to anyone from Japan and you'll also see that is how it's pronounced. Don't bother talking to people from Western parts of the world, they butcher words in a similar way to this video (I'm also looking at other people like the Yandere Sim dev with his "yandairy").

What do you mean, Romaji shows the exact way of pronunciation in this case. Saying Ya-Ma-Tou in Romaji is saying やまとう in Japanese. Ive lived my entire life in Japan, and Japanese is my native language. Ive never met a person who pronounce Yamato as "Ya-Ma-Tou". Romaji "To" is not pronounced like "Two".

Certainly naval aviation made her obsolete, but "Building Yamato was like forging the ultimate sword while everyone else was making machine guns" is a complete fallacy. Yamato and USS North Carolina were built in almost the same period (1937-1941), and Americans even built the next, Iowa, class while Yamato class was the last battleships for Japan. In the late 30's, everybody was still vying for the "big ships with big guns" race, and it's Japan that actually changed the tide by demonstrating the might of carrier strike fleets.

The problem is America could afford the bbs and built carriers as well . Japan invested half their resources to Yamato and it was a disappointment. And the fact that Japan showed the potential of Aircraft carriers is certainly not true. In the naval battle of midway Japan lost 4 carriers out of 4 that fought while America lost only 1 out of 3.

alphanum001 Yes, if you are playing the japanese bb, kawachi is the worst of all. Shitty range of 9.8km after upgrade. The american bb can score twice as kawachi in range.
