Honestly, I really hope armada does card packs, so you don’t have to invest as much for some cards. If I worked at FFG, I would sell card packs at different rarity’s , and prices would vary on that rarity.

After the announcement of no planned expansions for Armada, I would like to see an updated video for 2021 (at least for Rebel/Empire not Clone Wars). I realize the upgrade card collection makes buying multiple ships not as necessary. Does it now make sense to buy multiple upgrade card packs? If so, for which cards?

I agree except for your opinion on the nebulon. If you add ackbar and con. fire plus xi7s you can throw out a lot of damage. I have tried it and it is great.

Would you please do a victory class sd build that has more than one. Maybe with a bunch of squadrons or whatever you think will make them competitive.

Victory's are pretty strong carriers. 2-3 with a strong squadron presence equipped with Flight Controllers make even lowly Tie squadrons punch above their weight.

I never bother to get duplicates, for one FFG seem to do repaints of most of the models, (maybe not Armada yet but definitly X-Wing) as for cards I don’t play tournament so proxy is fine. One exception is the base ships, since those came with new cards.

The Bear with Armada there isn't as much need for repaints. Big ships largely look fairly similar. Honestly, the only repaint I can think of that they could do is, a Phoenix Squadron(Phoenix Nest?) Quasar-fire for Rebels, also it's the only big ship we see stolen by Rebels from the Imperials. Not sure if FFG is willing to give us ships that are dual faction just yet. I mean, I know I'd buy one. But with Armada's slower release schedule, I'm not sure how long it will take before they're willing to do more repaints for Armada.... ooh... Crimson Victory's...

Errrr, the majority of the Rebel Alliance fleet are stolen Imperial vessels. For an example, there are more than 20x more Nebulon-B Frigates in Imperial Navy service than in Rebel Alliance service.

Sadly the exclusivity of upgrades in Armada is disgusting. FFG needs to work on re-printing cards, especially across the faction aisle, and giving more than a single instance. ...Rant done. Just missing a lot of key cards as an Imperial only.

Yeah, I also despise the notion that I somehow NEED to buy a ship I don't want just to get a card or two. I'm stubborn and not interested in the tournament scene but a lot of people are buying ships that may not even get fully unboxed just to stay competitive.

Some of these are available as participation rewards for events and tournaments. Check your FLGS if they can run an Armada event.

My friendly "local" game store is a 2 hour round trip from where I live. I'm not as bad off as many people but it's hardly economical. In communities like these, everything is done locally on an informal level (we're lucky to even find other players) which means we're at the mercy of the aforementioned shady practices.

If you've never played, I'd recommend one to see if you like the game, maybe a few of the expansions that seem cool, that way you have ships you want to try to fly, and if you find you can't stand the game, you still have some cool models of your favorite ships. If you enjoy the game and it's still on sale, go for two then, that way you get a lot of squadrons, upgrades and extra parts, even if the ships themselves are... eh.

Thrindal I'm not going to duplicate the Chimaera since I duplicated my ISDs, and I really don't see the need for four of them(storage issues), but I probably will get another Profundity. Not sure about the Phoenix yet.

I have 2 ISD and now bought Chimaera expansion pack. Chimaera comes with extra ship cards so I can convert my regular ISDs to Kuat refit or Cymoon refit. So theoretically at a 400 point game I can play with 3 ISDs but I guess that would be just for fun as ( with 332 pointed allocated to ships there will not be much points left for any useful upgrades or squadrons) . So should I try to sell one my ISDs or wait to game to increase to a 500 or 600 point game? Also for Rogues and Villians, you said you have 5 sets of them. So at a game can you play with a Millenium Falcon and 4 YT-1300s?

You might need to be careful the way ffg is going it might tune out that they will errata and you can only have 1 of every ship

Parker McClintock that will never happen. From a marketing standpoint that would be stupid. FFG wants to make money first. Limiting only one ship of each kind would reduce there sales drastically.
