One thing about armadillos is that when they curl they take less damage, and if the damage is small it completely negates it, meaning that you can punch them and they wont die as long you dont have strength, so you could make a football game work by having a ice platform and have the hermits punch them, and maybe could be possible to use a knockback wooden sword if you have weakness effect

Hey Ren, the lead breaks when you accelerate too quickly. If you hit the rockets when you're moving too slowly then you will accelerate a huge amount and the lead breaks. The trick is to slowly build up speed by gliding, then once you're moving fast enough you can literally spam rockets as much as you want and the lead won't break.

was literally going to say this; accelerate downward, hit that rocket and near-immediately pull up to gain altitude. A 20-25 degree angle downward is what I usually hit to accelerate and then I try to climb above the cloud line

that also explains why flying up or down too steeply breaks the leads: while gliding, the boats probably have an upwards and a downwards velocity of nearly zero.

Interesting thing about Armadillos, they had a brief stint as horror movie set dressing. In the 1920s and 1930s a lot of directors used them as "creepy/demonic' animals, since unless you actually went and looked for knowledge on animals outside your area, people living outside of the areas where armadillos are native, wouldnt know about them, so they could be a basically blank canvas animal to have mean whatever you want. One of the weirder places this ended up occurring is in the 1931 Dracula, where about Dracula's castle, squarely in Europe, there are Armadillos scurrying about in place of rats, because the director Todd Browning liked armadillos more.

Armadillos are horribly cute. Armadillos drop Scutes, that can be used to make Dog Armor. And also, Armadillos scare the Spiders, like Dogs scare Skellies and Cats scare Creepers. Might be useful for some passive spawning mob farms.

*@Rendog* 21:00 & 21:51 You should name them ALL "Space Rat" (optional number?) so when they eventually find their way to someones base, they will know :D (You can also use some kind of "AI-barier" in the "bio-scanners" (more lore accurate), like wither-roses under carpets (eg: horse stable), to stop the "space rats" from escaping your base)

Would it be possible to power the smelter with solar panels? From what i've seen, this planet is unusually warm and sunny because of the cracked ground, and using solar powered heating coils would be a really cool bit of lore. It would also fit into the clean/clinical gigacorp aesthetic

I like how you can brush the armadillos with the trail ruins brush and they'll drop their scutes that way too! Had an idea when you said about the Space Dogs nomming on slugs, you could armour stand magic some candles to make them look like lil space bugs? Candles came to mind coz of their small shape.

The space rats are the best Ren-dea! It feels like for the colony's day to day operations the space rats are mildly annoying but not enough for giga-corp to setup a taskforce to try to deal with them so they end up just becoming co-inhabitants.

Hmm... Armadillo Football has potential. Definitely needs a bigger field. Maybe ice playing surface to make the armadillos move around more, some other block to mark the "out of bounds line" so they slow down and get stuck on the edge of the field and players have enough room to kick them back into play without them getting stuck in a corner. Maybe give each player some wind charges too.

If you're going with the armadillos being rats or something similar, a specific corner or area where they go to the bathroom would be good. I've owned quite a few rats, they're quite clean and tend to collectively pick one corner to do their business.

I believe with the 1.21 update you can stack armor trims on top of one another, so you could potentially create an iron gigacorp suit with orange and blue accents for any hermits willing to participate. Also, you aren't allowed to duplicate trims bought from Doc's trim shop. I guess just give them back to Doc.

Another cool episode Ren. With the number of hermits playing you could organise a 4 or 5 a side tournament. I suggest a bigger field in the Gaming District, it would be a real easy build and could last a while before reshuffling the teams to do again. I really like the concept of space rats. I'm getting some Trouble with Tribbles vibes. Are they a pet? Are they a pest? Are they pouring out of redstone ducts? Absolutely all the yes! They're even the right color. I wonder how durable an Armadillo with potions would be. Could they survive if you punch the balls with resistance 4 and regeneration? I'd love to see Armadillo football further explored.
