So thank you so much for taking me out to the show! that first man with all the beautifully finished cabs was amazing! He is very talented and anyone should be honored to get some of his pieces to make jewelry from. I would spend an hour at that booth!

I visited the Lakota and stayed on the Pine Ridge Reservation. We spent a day at Rosebud with the ladies of the tribe and I bought some beadwork from the elder lady, Running Elk I believe her name was...been ages ago. But it was a great opportunity for me to go with my nursing class in my senior year at university. I have great love for the Lakota Souix Nation.

One of my best friends is Lakota Suix the white Buffalo legend is such a beautiful story, my friend Will his cousin is Big Chief on Street Outlaws street drag racing very strong people that are natural leaders with common sense beyond the average person can imagine. It's sad they have been pisecuted their the poorest tribe in North America that black hills have been exploited with the Lakota being taken advantage of by our government if you know the story they defending themselves being mutilated by the US army. They killed Genetal Custard and his soldiers they allowed 2 to live to tell the story. They won using the same technic they used on Buffalo hunts to beat the US Army. The only tribe to defeat their enemy at such a defeat I believe the reason for the oppression they suffer from. You knowI believe I will write the President ask to correct this situation it breaks my heart this suffering of the Lakota Suix.

That Florite is such a beautiful gem. I'm so jealous I'd love to go to Tucson, damn epidemic. Ruining everything. The only comfort from it I take is that at the end of WW1 in 1918, when the Spanish Flu epidemic spread, wearing masks outside was common in America and other 1st world countries for a couple of years, everyone who could afford one wore one, then it was totally forgotten by history until Covid struck, only old footage of Street Trams & Trollies and the like showed that up. Hopefully history will repeat.

I don't mind a pointed stone. I have secret trick w/o wedging the bezel point w file. Create a shoe. Easier to break the point? Yup. Be careful.😉
@lapidarydave2 жыл бұрын
I need to know secret trick!!!!
@roberttyrrell22502 жыл бұрын
@@lapidarydave Think of it like how your shoe has enough room to get your foot in. & your toes are covered, ankle is exposed. Its like that. I make the bezel w seam at the point. Pre fit the stone, file 2 angles push the bezel down so the 2 sides just kissing & has enough room to get the point under. (File/ cut bezel point each side perfect matched even & hieght you want it to be)Remove stone. I solder the point. I have a nice tight point( semi burnished not tight on stone yet) The stone just slips under like toes in a shoe. As you know; When setting always start at corner or tight radius. So you don't get funky ripples. Burnish the rest around the stone. It doesn't work w square or trillion cuts. But for pointed pear shapes? Perfect. No ugly filed open tip, not over lapped, no open seam to get snagged on clothing. Have I broken a few. Yup. Chipped a cpl? Yup. I have little box of chipped. Both facet, & cabs. Few marquise, Mostly opals😳🤯😭 Maybe I'll do a vid.
