The Academies play for pride, like in 'The Pride of Oklahoma' when Sooners played for pride. As someone who watched Bud Wilkinson at 7yrs old, I've seen 3 great eras. I doubt if I live long enough to see No 8, it's has been extremely evasive since the last one. Kapernick ruined it for me and the rest of commercial sports, now I am losing interest with my passion, Sooner football. The sport has become a subsidized training camp for the NFL while leaving loyalty and pride behind going for the highest bidder. I used to couldn't sleep after a game like yesterday, last night I sleep like a rock. Good bye, so long, It's been good to know ya; at least for today.

One thing that has really annoyed me all season is this staff never makes in-game adjustments. We go up by 14, the Navy coach makes an adjustment, and we don't score again until 6 seconds left in the game. In all that time, not one person on the coaching staff said, "Hey, they made some changes. Maybe we should, too." We just keep doing the same thing over and over, with no results. I think 8-4 in 2025 will save his job one more year as they see how they do when the brutal schedule flips. That will give one more year to lower the buyout. In 2026, if he is still here, he will need to win 9-10 games. He has coached himself into a big hole and needs to take the program under control because it’s a clown show right now. I say 80% chance that we’re in a coaching search this time next year. I just don’t think he’s up to it.

I have seen this movie before and it is not going to end well. For 3 years under John Blake it was " coaches don't make plays, we need to quit making these stupid mistakes, if we can just improve here and there things will get better!!" Nothing ever got better and then enter Bob Stoops. Suddenly those dumb mistakes went away. We need to stop the bleeding now. Sure we will suck in 2025 if we cut BV loose. I love Teddy but I think he's grading the defense on a bit too much of a curve. The defense gave up 226 yards rushing. 23 yards below their season average 249, but that was against the 87th ranked SOS in the FBS. 0 interceptions, 0 fumbles, 0 sacks. Navy has 19 fumbles, 8 lost, 6 INTs, and 11 sacks on the season. They aren't a team that never gives up negative plays. Gabe is right, Horvath had a bad day throwing the football. You can say they executed on 90% of plays, but Navy also had a 7.5 minute TD drive.

There is one overriding difference between Navy and Oklahoma and that is discipline. It has trumped athleticism every time. Navy plays disciplined assignment sound football, and OU does not. Either we have uncoachable players or the coaching is below par. This marks Venables second losing season in three. If the buyout were not a constraint, would he still be here? I would love to see Alley stay, but can he recruit lb's?
@JoshRay-q2n23 сағат бұрын
Couple of my opinions, personally, i think you want 2 main backs, Demarco is clearly a good recruiter but he also clearly doesnt understand when and how to play guys, i just dont think you can sit there and try to play 5 damn RBs, how could any kid get a rhythm going with that....and the Mitchell thing, im with Ted, 5 star TEs are a rare breed, i dont get it with this kid, i dont care how young he is or that he should still be in HS, freshman step into spots all the time across college football now, in a game in which we are void of quality TEs on the roster and it wouldnt burn his redshirt and this kid cant sniff the field??...come on man

The money is not matching the players production is a great comment. There needs to be rules to NIL and the transfer portal. No production and No improvement mean's no pay or a lower %. No different with a regular job. Football is over and now it is Softball time soon.

I don’t think BV knows how to manage a complete team. Great guy, knows defense but the offense is horrible and players make too many mistakes. Also, he goes for it when he should punt, and he punts when he should go. Also clock issues and player management on game day is an issue. He seems to want to get as many players in the game as possible instead of winning the game. Like yesterday, no Mitchell but Sam Franklin gets in the game. Makes no sense.
