FINALLY a "concealed carrying for runners" video that actually shows someone running while using the product! I've been looking into a lot of different options and this was the most helpful video I've come across - thank you. It doesn't seem like the crossover between distance runners and concealed carriers is very big (yet!) so it doesn't seem like there are many good resources out there. Glad you were able to find something that worked - my primary concerns are also the bouncing and printing, since I run at a fairly quick pace and also live in a very warm climate.

I experienced the same frustration when I was trying to figure it out. Sometimes product reviews would have people running with them, but they’d run away from the camera so you couldn’t actually see what was going on 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m glad this one was helpful!

@@kyriewoodring1951 it’s been a few years since this video went up, and I don’t really run distance anymore, so I can’t really say. However, there are some distance runners in the PHLster Concealment Workshop on Facebook that have shared their experience training for marathons with their enigmas. I’d suggest joining that group and looking into some of their experiences for a more informed opinion 🙂

Good video. I agree the Enigma is a welcome solution to the issues you encounter when exercising and carrying. I have struggled with the leg leash. I have large quads and when I squat the clip has a tendency to release and then you find yourself with the leg leash hanging down from under your shorts. I have tried the mule tape which was an improvement but just ordered an Enigmod leash from Rego Concepts. If I can solve the leg leash issue I will be ready to make the Enigma my every day holster.

Not trying to be contentious, just curious. Isn't this a bit unnecessary? If you're working out, lifting weights, within a gym---is a firearm really needed? I can understand if somebody is running outside, solitary. The last thing I need to worry about is a firearm while I'm exercising. Maybe it's personal preference because I don't like having my gym locker key in my pocket when I'm working out.
@tessahbooth
@tessahbooth 2 жыл бұрын
It's less about while one is working out, and more about the transition from being inside a gym into a parking lot. Personally I wouldn't feel conformable leaving my gun in a gym locker, so having it on my person is the way to go. Although I can absolutely imagine the potential necessity for a firearm even within a gym setting.

I always carry pepper spray in addition to my gun whether I'm exercising or just on the day to day, so I would definitely suggest you carry a good pepper spray (POM is a good option). I have a Olight attached to my 9mm. Would this be a problem for this holster? Do they have an Enigma holster that will fit my gun with the Olight? The holster that I have now is perfect, and it even has a pouch to carry a magazine. The problem is that I don't like the material. It allows too much perspiration inside the holster. Plus, even though I haven't tried using it while I run (since I run inside on my treadmill), but I am pretty sure that if I did, that thing would be flopping around while getting sweat on my gun. So, I am looking for the best of both worlds. I want something like what you have but will hold it will my Olight AND carry an extra magazine. Of course, the extra magazine pouch on the holster is not a must. I use an old tactical, police light carrying case to carry another magazine. It's A LOT more comfortable than the regular magazine holders that they sell. They have those things are way up too high when you put them on your belt, and the magazine digs into 'my' side, because it's too high. This police light carrying case fixes this for me, because the top of the magazine drop to belt level. Anyway,.... That was my adventure...What do you think about the VNSH holster, 'today'? I have heard that they fixed many of the issues that people were complaining about. At least, that's what THEY are saying.

The enigma has 12 adjustment holes that allow you to control how much grip tuck or slide tuck you want. Well, you certainly look fit & trim, so well done there. As for the products, nicely done representing who you are going to be working for and incorporating the knowledge you have with the former holsters and items you’ve used in the past. Excellent video and concise. You found a great niche. Hope your husband is safe on deployment.

Cool. I get buy with a larger clip for most exercises, and I use a G42 as well. I've been thinking about an an old-school LCP2 ($250 on base, tax free) but I've heard bad things about sweat and rust with those super little guys.

There are three different Enigmas, two of them come with just the chassis, and one of them (Enigma Express) comes fully assembled with the holster. PHLster does make a p365 Enigma Express 😊

Hi. Thanks for the content. Before I start, please understand that there is no judgement from my side whatsoever. I am assuming you live in America somewhere and if I compare your generalized live conditions and quality of life in your country VS my side of the world which is South Africa we are statistically and in real life situations a crime hotspot, something the World doesn't get told or mentioned in the media because of the whole history of the Country and and and. But even with that I and my family don't need or feel the need to own or carry guns, we live a fairly comfortable life eventho our next generation is pretty much going to need to look for greener pastures somewhere else. I'm all for guns and fully understand guns don't kill, people kill people. So in this long winded comment / question. Why do you feel the need to carry a gun in such a "safe" country? Again this is just a honest question that I don't intend to have any negative meaning in it.
@tessahbooth

Hey! Thanks for your comment. I actually just addressed this question in todays upload. You can skip to the last time card in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6K5pZJnlq9potk It’s not about whether I live in a safe area or not, it’s more about the fact that there are bad actors everywhere, and people are victimized everyday. If, in the off chance I am selected for attack, I want to be as prepared as I can be in order to prevent someone from taking my life from me.

@@tessahbooth thanks for the reply. I just watched your video 5min after I posted. As I mentioned, no judgement at all from my side, just wanted your take on why you carry. Sad fact is that in my country, if I shoot a criminal that is in my house attacking me or my family I will be in more trouble then the perpetrators. I will be arrested and will need to without a shadow of adoubt state my case that our lives where is really and imminent threat.

@@angelln25 I don't know where you are, or what the laws are in your country, but it is not uncommon for self defenders to be arrested in the US after a self defense encounter and will also have to prove that they had reason to believe that they were in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm.

The leg leash clasp on the original SUCKS!!!!! I hope they come up with a new clasp. I don’t even use the leg leash anymore because of the clasp.
@tessahbooth
@tessahbooth 3 жыл бұрын
They actually are designing a new clip for the leash :) I still use the original clip, and have never had any issues with it. Is there a reason you didn't like it? Just to be clear, PHLster strongly recommends against removing the leg leash. It was purposefully added into the design of the enigma, and its not advised to use the enigma without.

@@tessahbooth I am a very large guy. And my legs are very large. When I do squats, run, sprints, bend over a certain way the clip pops open. My wife is a therapist and does taping for a living. We have taped the leash in place... with the flexion of my thigh I pop the clasp. If I leave it loose so it doesnt pop I will have to tape it in place every single day. I am not using sports tape every day in order to leave it loose enough to not pop the clip. The clip is way to weak. It needs a stronger clip.

@@CannonCountry PHLster has an educational resource for this very issue on their website :) The clip breaking away is a safety feature, although it is possible your was defective. Did you try emailing their customer service? www.phlsterholsters.com/whats-up-with-the-enigma-leg-leash/

@@tessahbooth Why would I want the clip to break away from my leg as I squat or run? That defeats the purpose and then becomes a major problem. I want it to work when I run and squat and do any physical movements.
@tessahbooth
@tessahbooth 3 жыл бұрын
@@CannonCountry It should not break away when doing those activities. The link I left above would likely be very helpful. Theres a video of someone doing movements that you just described with the leash adjusted properly. Like I said, it is possible also that your leash could be defective. I would encourage you to contact their customer service after looking at the educational resource above :)
