Concrete blocks are manufactured to be a certain strengh. This enables them to be cut, drilled, workable if you like, while having the strength to support the structure. Blocks are not designed to be hard as granite.

This is fine for breezeblock like the above and if your work is primarily new builds, using this is a breeze. But if you're working as a regular domestic electrician this is next useless because you mostly come across concrete and brick walls.
@benjamincompton97672 жыл бұрын
If you work new build you dont chop in it's all dab now. It will go through red brick to be fair but you're right about concrete you can forget it
@highgatehandyman64792 жыл бұрын
@@benjamincompton9767 it will go right into bricks nut will blow them to bit in the process cracking all the pointing. This level of vibration is a no no on old brickwork. A multi tool with a blunt wood bit will be much cleaner on sort red and stocks. Other wise get the gringer out and flat head screedriver. I like the box chisel sds bit though. Good to finish with once youve made all the relief work . And nice on breezeblock

Aye right there mate as most common brick is 40 Nt where as Dense concrete Block is only 15 Nt with that tool if if didn’t shake your fillings out you would be there all day cutting one double box out just accept it’s a pig of a job and whack it out , best method is stitch drill the perimeter and then use 20 or 25mm diameter to remove the inside then trim with scutch or feather splitter.

'Id like to see that in use with a combo of red brick and a mortar course,because i know it wouldn't be that easy like it was with breeze block. 😒😠

Now you’re asking , but no chance the video would need to run for 4-5 hours and the sparky would get HAV syndrome and his teeth fillings shaken out.

that is a bricklayer problem. whatever is feeding that box is obviously going to be surface mount on the other side probably. whats the point of flush mounting the box at that point.

I'm afraid not in the real world...that looks like soft breezeblock...which you could cut it out with a Stanley Knife. Most solid wall box sinking situations you'll find yourself faced with are like granite. Nice try!

americans using square boxes makes no logic drill two holes then use dumb square cutter or just get euro standarts by doing one round hole...

Thanks for your comment. The feedback we've received from electricians in the UK is that this is a great time-saving product. Sorry, I'm not sure if it's intended for the American market.

This video is for a UK double socket. I have a similar one for single sockets which I have used many times. It is quick and easy to use and works very well. Sorry to the nay sayers but the proof is in the pudding!

We use round boxes in the US and we also use rectangular boxes. They serve different purposes. We also have octagon boxes.
