This deal may be a step toward stability, but it’s far from genuine peace. In essence, we are witnessing a cold peace, not a true resolution, as the underlying tensions remain vital to the survival of the regime.

Great interview as usual. Ideally in any endeavour the last 10% takes the 90% of the effort. Therefore Pashinyan’s proposal of signing the peace based on the 90% agreements by both sides which could help the solution for the last 10% makes sense. The problem with Aliyev is that his hood on power is dependent on Armenia being an enemy of Azerbaijan, unless the events change within Azerbaijan there is no hope for concluding peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, one last point besides the election of Trump is what is going on within Georgia and Trump’s stand on that, It appears that Trump invited Salome Zourabichvili to his inauguration and not the president elected to replace her.
