We visit the Aregak Cafe in Gyumri, Armenia and chat with Sarah Stites, the Development Officer.
Aregak is not just another cafe, it's a very special place which you must come and visit when in Gyumri!
The Aregak Bakery and Cafe Aregak is the first restaurant in the city of Gyumri (and I believe in all of Armenia) to promote and celebrate the capabilities of young people with disabilities. It's wonderful to see these amazing young people thriving in a workplace which prides itself on the "inclusivity" of all people.
Sarah is an amazing human being (25% Armenian), originally from the States, now living and working in Gyumri. She is the Development Officer for the Aregak Bakery and Cafe and the Emily Aregak Centre for disabled youth. Sarah's an inspirational young lady, who is passionate about her work and the people she works with. She is passionate about changing people's attitudes to the disabled in our community. Aregak Bakery and Cafe is a shining example of inclusiveness in action, where disabled youth work side by side with 'able bodied folk,' providing a level of service (as evidenced by our amazing female waiter) which is second to none.

@user-rn5em5md6v...thanks for your kind words. Yes, there is a lot of work to be done, so if we all contribute just a little to towards the development of our country...I believe we can turn things around...without always relying on government to fix all our problems🙏

wow, she chose to go the event despite her friend bailing! despite not her not knowing anyone. and she took the leap to leave work for the opportunity. i wish i had a fraction of that in me. :)

I apologize for not remembering this wonderful ladies name. She is an Angel incarnate send from Heaven or I think she stated she was for the DC area. May Christ bless her and all the good that she does for humanity. I also have to say in a professional manner, she has a ultra infectious smile. Her beauty and smile can restart a dead star. ❤

Mr. Mitch , Hi Every time I see your videos you encourage me to move to Armenia .. I am John and I am Armenian born and raised in Egypt, My grandfather and my father is Armenian me as well and I am so proud of that but the thing is there are so many challenges that I am facing right now, Me and my brother have been thinking about this for almost 2 years now and I can't decide when is the right time to take a step to move and live in Armenia .. I want to do it but I am not sure if I will regret it and I don't know what to do.

@johndilangi...Hi John, thanks for your comment, it's very interesting. May I suggest before deciding to live in Armenia, you really need to get a 'feel' for the country. You need to come and visit for a month or two at least. Can I ask how old you and your brother are? If you're between 21 and 32 you might want to look at Birthright Armenia...they do really great work and many diasporan Armenians have decided to stay in Armenia after volunteering or completing an internship with them. birthrightarmenia.org That's the path that Sarah took and she decided to stay🙏 I would be happy to answer more of your questions, so if you want you can send me an email through our channel page. Just click on our icon, go to 'About' section then scroll down to 'Business Email.' However, if you use a Smartphone, it won't reveal the email for some reason, so please use a regular computer. I wish you and your brother all the best...and may God bless you and your family🙏
