Also we had 5 air defense systems in just sitting in storage in Yerevan only 4 of whicn was nonoperational it wasn’t until almost the entire air defense system was destroyed in the first day of the conflict that someone woke up and got an expert from Moscow to come and repair and make operational the other 4 systems which should have been operational years ago as a backup just in case but instead they just sat there non operational waiting for an emergency situation to happen for someone to finally wake up. Again the level of readiness and incompetence is UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Micro-reforms which should be done to have a more effective force, and that don't cost billions: - Keep a conscript force with a professional NCO corps and specialists corps. Armenia having a professional army for the challenges ahead is unrealistic. - Develop an actual, highly respected and prestigious NCO corps. They're the core of any respected military. - Extend conscription to 3 years, while reduce it to 1 year for some segments of the population (scientists, critical specialists, etc.). Conscript women. - Culture change: Set a culture of leadership by example, respect, responsibility and professionalism. - Work with a descentralized chain of command structure to encourage initiative on the battlefield. - Keep the military out of the hands of politicians. Reforms should come out from the military and be supported by the politic. They should not be vague announcements by politicians to keep support.

Would have added to the discussion the urgency and criticality to build an innovative military industry , an industry that is true backbone of the army and MOD , working in strategic new military techs , and this would so motivate and encourage high minded youth , females and males , to consider long term carrier .. an Yes , hope the entire Gov of Armenia listening to this narrative !! .. perhaps next interview with Army chief of Staff and his views …
