Hail to all Armenians from the Netherlands. As a Dutchman I have no connection to your country and your people, but I sympathize heavily with your cause. Be proud oh Armenia! Land of the first church and of ancient tradition. From the first days of Urartu ever on! In the Persian Empire, Armenia already existed! The ROMANS fought against ARMENIANS AND PERSIANS The Ancient Greeks and Egyptians taught of ARMENIANS NOT OF TURKS. The Turks came from Central-Asia like nomands and claim now that all history is theirs! Everything good is Turkish! But this is nonsence! In fact, the Ottomans took BYZANTINE architecture and called it their own! They took their fighting from the Huns and called it Turkish! Be proud and hold your head high oh Armenians! For the Turks may not say that their history is false, but they know it in their hearts. Everything they claim as good and Turkish is, in fact, stolen from other civilisations.

And what is more shameful, I am a Mexican historian and I remember while having ancient history lessons, we didn't hear a word about Armenia even its history is also part of the ancient world. But to be honest I do not think that Turkey is paying for such propaganda, is more because of the currently economical and political influence. I recommend you to write a letter to the museum. Unfortunately that is the conspiracy, no longer a theory because it’s clear to me that they are suppressing the truth that every human on earths history has the right to know the truth. Also Noah was Armenian. He didn’t sail to Ararat. He built a stable which had the ability to float and rest when the water subsided 💯

Even as a Londoner, having visited the British Museum many times, I cannot remember when I was able to find this Bronze bust of Anahit. I think it was many years ago. The British Museum has it almost hidden from view in a dark case at the back of a hard to find gallery. Certainly a check on its website might help to find the exact gallery. It is awkward using modern countries to give geographic locations for ancient historical referencing. Like here, historians can easily say that "Julius Caesar invaded England" when in fact England did not exist until the 900 years after Julius Caesar. They forget the distinction between England and Britain. The British predate the English and the Romans called the island Britannia, but this must be an uncomfortable truth some English historians to remember. But using the word "TURKEY" on a map that is meant to demonstrate ancient regions is wrong. Being reliant on funding, I wonder if "certain funds" are behind this anachronistic map...
@MasisReubenPanos10 жыл бұрын
I tried just now on the British Museum website, to search for "Anahit" and it brought no results. I typed in the word "Turkey" and it brought up a lot...

***** Certainly Anatolia is a more recent name for the region. I only know of the word "Anatolia" in us during the Byzantine era, for its "Anatolikon" province in around 700 AD. It is nothing to do with the Turkish word "Ana Dolu", predating the Seljuk conquest by 300 years.
@MasisReubenPanos10 жыл бұрын
***** I think it is about how Galleries within the museum act as propaganda vehicles if the Sponsors wish so. I remember going to the Coin Gallery, sponsored by Goldman Sachs. Almost evey weekday a "curator" is there with a tray. The tray has "six" types of coin. Three were sub-Saharan African, a disreputable "Manilla Bracelet" (used in the Slave Trade by Great Britain), a Copper "cross-type" ingot and a piece of woven fabric. No examples of Chinese, Indian, Persian, Greek, Roman or Celtic coins, even replicas, for Children to study.

"The title itself is astonishing: how could a nomadic tribe speak of its roots in a territory it conquered? If there is any ancient Turkey at all, it should be in Altay... Moreover, labeling Asia Minor as Anatolia, which is a relatively new name, for some reason, the name 'Armenian Highland' is overlooked and consistently ignored on the maps of the world..." --- Cheap tactics like this cause the museum to lose legitimacy in the eyes of anyone who knows anything about history.

The collection of manuscripts of Matenadaran is one of the biggest in the world. The depository contains over 17300 manuscripts, 450 thousand archive documents, 3000 ancient books. Over 14200 manuscripts kept in SRI are in Armenian, the rest ones are in foreign languages - Greek, Latin, Aramaic, Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, Old Slavonic, Ethiopic, Japanese and others. Unique examples of translation are kept here, the origins of which weren’t saved. In the course of the centuries following the dissolution of the Bagratuni Kingdom of Armenia in 1045, thousands of manuscripts were destroyed by the Turkic-Mongol invasions. According to the account given by Stepanos Orbelian, the Seljuk Turks were responsible for the burning of over 10,000 Armenian manuscripts in Baghaberd in 1170. In 1441, the Matendaran in Sis, the capital of the former Cilician Kingdom of Armenia, was moved to Echmiatsin and stored in nearby monasteries. As a result of Armenia being a constant battleground between two major powers, the Matenadaran in Echmiadzin was pillaged several times, the last of which, took place in 1804. Eastern Armenia’s incorporation into the Russian Empire in the first third of the 19th century provided a more stable climate for the preservation of the remaining manuscripts. Thus, “a new era started for the Echmiadzin Matenadaran. The Armenian cultural workers procured new manuscripts and put them in order with more confidence.”Whereas in 1828 the curators of the Matenadaran catalogued a collection of only 1,809 manuscripts, in 1914, the collection had increased to 4,660 manuscripts. At the outbreak of World War I, all the manuscripts were sent to Moscow for safekeeping and were kept there for the duration of the war. The Armenian collection at the Matenadaran is abundantly rich in manuscripts dealing in all fields of the humanities, but particularly historiography and philosophy. The writings of classical and medieval historians Movses Khorenatsi, Yeghishe and Aristakes Lastivertsi are preserved here, as are the legal, philosophical and theological writings of other notable Armenian figures. The preserved writings of Grigor Narekatsi and Nerses Shnorhali at the Matenadaran form the cornerstone of medieval Armenian literature

I am not in the habit of leaving comments but today I must. This is a growing trend in reshaping the people's believes in history though such subtle manipulations. Associative learning is a very, and I stress, very powerful tool and should not be looked upon lightly. We are subjected to such influences on daily bases; though media, in advertisement and in news. What is said is not always what is perceived, an empty mind is easy to shape. Not everyone is a historian, not everyone is an archeologist and not everyone is striving to know the truth. For most people who walk by an exhibit like in this video and read Turkey, look at the map and read, somewhere the text words like "ancient" and "BC" will walk away without thinking about it at all... and this is where the problem is, they don't question the association, what the exhibit implies is (language ambiguity may or may not be intentional): e.g. ~100BC in the area where Turkey is today... And what does the reader see? Turkey in 100BC... That same person, years down the line, will be asked or shown a map and will immediately KNOW (no longer believe or think that they read somewhere) that it is Turkey, that's the way the brain works, once an information is acquired, memory is formed in hippocampus and then consolidated in cortex, once memory is consolidated it becomes knowledge (no one said that knowledge must be true) . "Subliminal messages" Many people think that subliminal messages are messages heard when a record is played backwards... no, subliminal messages are what this video is showing. This obscured history shown today is laughable because we all know the it is simple ridiculously false, but it is only for a short period of time. In the near future, those historians will be gone, the records will be doctored further and the history will be completely rewritten. The problem for everyone, especially turks is that we are still here, the problem for us is that many of us have given up, It is not easy for one people to go and question validity of information shared. Mariam. Thank you for the video it resonates with me absolutely, but, it resonates with me only because I am who I am. Why should it resonate with, let's say, a family from Utah or an Australian businessman. It should be presented such that many people, from different walks of life, can relate to it. I am no trying to preach to anyone. I myself am on such quest and to date I have not found a means to relay my core message to others. One must not rely of a persons intellect or willingness to explore the truth. Sumerian wealth is a world wealth, it belongs to everyone therefore need not be hidden. Armenian wealth is ours, therefore, there are many out there who want to have it concealed, obscured and diluted in the cloud of deception.

The oldest leather shoe found in Areni-1, circa 3500 b.c.e. (Leather, because of the extreme weather and rugged terrain) But who needs 6000+ year old inventions right? You want modern? Dr. Raymond Damadian--- inventor of the MRI Viktor Ambartsumian - discovered Stellar Associations; one of the founders of theoretical astrophysics Hovannes Adamian--pioneer of the tricolor principle for color television Luther George Simjian--inventor of the (atm), self-focusing camera, color x-ray machine Etc. Etc. Sigh. Since you forget your own spew: "Now, which Armenian scientists would you equate to any of the above mentioned Englishmen? (Their history is "ant" compared to yours). Don't even bother naming 3. Just name ONE. Name one Armenian scientist and say that "Blank" is on an equal footing with James Clerk Maxwell. Do that." The short list I provided was just off the top of my head. Dr. Damadian was presented with the Lemelson-MIT Prize Lifetime Achievement Award for inventing the MRI scanner. Maligning his good name changes naught. Discounting the sheer output of an entire ancient people, because you, individually, lack knowledge of them, changes naught. Those who have a received more than a cursory, anglo-centric education, know as well. As to the richness of English v. Armenian history, since I am of both Armenian and British descent, I have no dog in that fight. I suspect Alex meant that taking into account the sheer length that Armenians have been a genetically homogeneous culture on the planet, (about 4000 years) we win your strange challenge hands down. And here you have unwittingly hit on the reason for this whole video and thread-- That Armenia's immense contributions to the world have continuously been mislabeled, misrepresented, downplayed, destroyed by war or time, and in this particular case, completely appropriated by host countries or oppressors (Persia, Turks, the frigging Soviet Union, etc) with the help of their unwitting/ignorant/apologist allies. Ignoramus, indeed.

Rothman regarding the extent of discoveries and specially on the quality of horse bones proved, According to him, that it was from the Shangavit Armenian 6000 years ago that the culture of that area spread around to the ancient world.. according to Ellis (1861) through language analysis we observe that under the names of Phrygians, Thracians, Pelasgians and Etruscans spread westward from Armenia to Italy and Elis claimed that the closest affinities of the Aryan element are the Armenians ..other historians that agree are..Hellenthal, Busgy, Brand, Wilson, Myers and Falush...Professor Jensen also says. ‘For almost everything that is known in the Hittite language is Old Armenian in form..Historian Sayce (1845-1933) also consider Hittite and Armenian to be one and the same’. let me quote Merrick (2012) All religions are descended from and ancient Vedic cosmology described in the Rib - Veda, originating in Armenia near Mt. Ararat at least 6800 ys ago and the basic concepts of a transcendental mountain extending into space and populated planet Star-gods were developed...he further says...This Astrotheology then migrated with Armenian Aryans to found the Sumerian Ethiopian/Egyptian and Indian civilizations and religions...from Language as a fingerprint Setyan...

Ancient sanskrit came from the iranian area and went towards modern india, the myth and religions so fourth to say that it is reverse is bs, i have researched it but moderns interpretations only reflect modern powers.
@vadferadat10 жыл бұрын
malachi simonyan but ur comment does not justify the very claim that " anahit is an Armenian deity" and also ancient Sanskrit did not come from the Iranian lands , the speaker of it were of Indo-Aryan tribes who eventually settled in india and other relatives settled in Iranian plateau, nobody knows exactly where they come from

They use the term 'Turkey' as a reference to the modern day state. Nobody is gonna understand you if you say that the Urartians lived in Urartu. "Where is Urartu?" is what they would all be thinking. They do the same for every single country. This is such a stupid video.

@azersultanli60609 жыл бұрын
Armenian history is approved by only armenians because it is fake and false. when every armenian child grow up, they know only one think : "Turkish and muslims is our enemy" You can see this in every armenian comment. WHAT A FUCKED WASHED BRAİN
@Harout.Joulakian9 жыл бұрын
Azer Sultanli You are wrong my friend. Muslims are not our enemies. Turkish people are Turkey's enemies more than foreigners. That's why your Ottoman and post-Ottoman governments have always ruled by a sense of "control." Free speech is something that you are not allowed to even dream about. I am also sure that we do not hate your people nor your prophet. One thing I have noticed is that your people talk and repeat what they know instead of listening to what others have said. Abdullah Gul did really well by starting a dialogue but he was replaced halfway through because your current president has nothing in common with diplomacy and dialogue... He is more of a monologist type. I suggest you to search for the truth yourself instead of making irrelevant comments and eventually making a joke out of yourself. When and Why did you start reading or hearing about the Armenian genocide?
@levongevorgyan67899 жыл бұрын
Azer Sultanli If it weren't for the fighters in Sardarapat, there would be NO armenia to speak of. So you will forgive Armenians for thinking that Turks are our enemies. And we will not forgive those who do not ask for forgiveness.
