Welcome back to the last part of our Armenian stories, Chapter 3
Day 4- We started our journey towards the Araghat mountain, best known as the tallest mountain in Armenia( As the Ararat mountain is part of turkey now). First wr visited Hovhannavank monastery. The monastery stands on the edge of the Kasagh River canyon, and its territory is adjacent to the village of Ohanavan. The deep gorge is carved by the Kasagh River
Then we visited Armenian Alphabet Alley, In commemoration, it was given a gift of 39 giant, carved Armenian letters, strategically placed near the final resting place of the man who created the alphabet, Mesrop Mashtots.
Then we visited the the Araghat mountain where we drove to the maximum distance that can be driven in winter. The mountain was fully covered in thick snow.
Then we visited Saghmosavank monastery, The Saghmosavank is a 13th-century Armenian monastic complex located in the village of Saghmosavan in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. Like the Hovhannavank monastery which is five kilometers south, Saghmosavank is situated atop the precipitous gorge carved by the Kasagh river.
Then we headed back to our hotel in Yerevan. In night we explored the city and had a chance to be part of new year celebrations at Diana abgar park, the event was named “Seasons park station 2023-2024”
Day 5- On this day we visited the blue mosque of Yerevan, The Blue Mosque is an 18th-century Shia mosque in Yerevan, Armenia. It was commissioned by Hoseyn Ali Khan, the khan of the Iranian Erivan Khanate. It is one of the oldest extant structures in central Yerevan and the most significant structure from the city's Iranian period. It was the largest of the eight mosques of Yerevan in the 19th century and is the only active mosque in Armenia today.
Then we visited Mother Armenia monument, Mother Armenia is a female personification of Armenia. Her most public visual rendering is a monumental statue in Victory Park overlooking the capital city Yerevan. It was built to commemorate the victory of the USSR in the World War II
Then we visited cascade complex, The Cascade consists of 5 hillside terraces connected with 572 steps. The Cascade is located in Yerevan, Armenia. White travertine stone was used for building the complex since only this stone was available in the amount sufficient for such a large-scale construction. The Yerevan’s Cascade is situated in the northern part of the city center near the Opera House and Matenadaran
Then we return to hotel, after checkout headed to Yerevan airport. After the five days of wonderful experience we returned to UAE by #wizzair from Yerevan to Abudhabi.
