I'm so glad he did this interview; in the year-plus since the AirMail piece, I've been wondering how he's doing. I hope for the best for Armie, for two reasons. One, "Call Me By Your Name" was instrumental in helping me get through some extremely difficult times in my own life, from postpartum depression to the pandemic, and that's always going to be special to me. Two, he and I have daughters just a few months apart, and I've really felt for his kids during all this. I'm glad he's able to have so much time with them. Also, I'd like to apologize for something. Back in 2021, I wrote a post on Reddit called "To everyone who used to like Armie Hammer: You did nothing wrong." It went viral in a minor way among Redditors and others discussing Armie's situation, and while it didn't say anything particularly horrible about him, it was written with the assumption that all the accusations were true. While I had good intentions - I didn't want fans of his work to feel bad about themselves for being fans - I should have realized that I had no way to know the entire situation, and that as one human being to another, I owed him at least an acknowledgement that it was possible that the accusations were false. I was also rude to Armie on Twitter once about spending more time with his kids (he blocked me and I don't blame him). I'm sorry for not acknowledging that I didn't know what I didn't know, and for commenting on his relationship with his kids, which was none of my business. For what it's worth, I've been vocally skeptical online about the criminal allegations for the last couple of years, and after reading the piece in AirMail, I decided they were garbage. Even when I thought they were true, I always hoped he could find redemption in his life. Best of luck to him, and if that screenplay ever gets made into a film, I'd love to see it.

Thank you for having a platform, Tyler. And thank you, Armie, for being vulnerable and honest. I can relate to Armie in many ways (I didn't know much about him prior to watching this podcast (a friend sent it over because he thought I might like it)). Acting on my first instinct always leads to disaster. I'm almost 40, and my entire life has been putting out one dumpster fire after another. Every time my life becomes stable, I go out of my way to upset it. it's like I "get off" on setting everything ablaze. I hit rock bottom a few years ago and got very close to ending things. That's when I finally saw a psychiatrist. It's been a very non-linear, but generally upward, trend since then. And the thing about staying out of your own head as much as possible is SPOT ON. When I feel like I'm turning inward, I give myself a cursory once-over and then direct my attention to others. I have nothing but respect for anybody who can find the light in such darkness. I wish Armie the best of luck.

@@raymondsmith6870 He was not charged. His name has been cleared. It's been a year now. They were absolutely right. They made a mistake, they didn't punish those who condemned him in the media without knowing the REAL evidence and facts!

This was very insightful. Armie didn't get a fair chance, with all of that. But I feel strongly that he deserves a second chance. Robert Downey Jr got another chance, so Armie should have a second chance. If I could give Armie a big hug, I would.

Recovery is a process. Great interview...whether you have 3 yrs. Or 42...your life matters and helps others recover back to sanity with a GOD OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING. I relate with the recovery lingo. It took me 10 years to find how my behaviors brought me to addition...whether food, alcohol or many drugs. It all leads back to the same devastating journey back to life. Thank you Armmie for being open to the honesty sobriety brings One day at a time ❤

He is such a good actor and it's really unfortunate how his situation came to be, but it's good he is alive and seemingly well.

I know Armie Hammer has done the work to get to a place of balance and contentment in his personal life. And he may not need this, but I hope he also gets that balance and (dare I say) vindication for his career and public image. He's a fine actor, someone I feel was unjustly treated, and I hope he comes back to what he loves doing on our screen.

This is it, this is life, this is humanity. We ALL learn. We ALL got ups and downs because we ALL need a dose of the "bad things" to know what the "good things" are. Education, experience is always the best way to find out who You are and not who You think You are, who You want to be and how to get it. It is a hard work for ALL of us. You do a great job showing the truth that isn't comfortable. I believe it will realy help some people. Thank You and all Your guests 🙌 keep going ✌

Thank you for this podcast.During the pandemic, I suffered a complete social implosion during a time when it was nearly impossible to build anything new. I'm still recovering from the fallout. I'm glad I have the chance to hear from someone who came out of the experience better and can share what they learned along the way

Wonderful podcast! Armie, you really have a gift that would be highly utilized in motivational speaking. I am glad that you are doing well and continue to do the work that you need to do to continue to be the best person that you want to be. You look calm and happy and great. I have had struggles not with addiction, but some similar like you have had in life and this podcast was helpful. You have a gift and I look forward to see what’s in store for you. Nice to see your big smile. Good luck!

agree with Armie, the resistence to disturbance is the actual disturbance. once i was in the same situation with armie, not as bad as his tho, but still made me feel devastated. i tried to fight that sadness, but the more i fought the more sadness i felt. so i just enjoyed it, absorbed it untill it faded away. sometimes it is ok to feel like shit.

Didn't know much about Armie before his downfall, but he seems like he's learned some hard lessons and has come out of it with very powerful insight on transformation. Hopefully he gets a second shot at what he loves to do...I'd give it to him

Watched interview with Piers Morgan & this is 1000000% better as I actually have empathy for him in this interview , he goes into more detail so getting a more in depth picture of him whereas in the other, I was questioning if he was a psychopath. He explains himself in this & I feel like hes a human who is flawed due to childhood trauma. Really glad I sat through this second interview.
