I remember waiting in anticipation for this episode as a manga reader. Wit Studio managed to take the source material and improve upon it 10000 fold. And admittedly I very nearly cried at Armin’s death, I didn’t find his death sad but the music score was what was doing me in. It wasn’t sad, melancholic, or dreary; it was triumphant and that hit HARD.

The theme of dreams is essential for AOT. "Everyone has to be drunk on something to get going...". Erwin was drunk on his dream of knowing the truth. Armin always wanted to explore the world. And they both sacraficed their dreams in order to do the right thing. What Isayama suggests is that putting aside your selfish desires is the ultimate act of overcoming yourself and that's what truly can make you a hero

I also believe that isayama changed himself over the course of making this. Eren is not a villain nor an anti-hero. I think Isayama realized that desires and dreams are the only reason to live and that Eren had conflicting desires being pressured by the ugly selfish world around him. A victim of causal human nature. (implying that humanity may never be able to ever truly let go because letting go is represented by zeke's philosophy of ending suffering by ceasing to procreate, explore, and fight.) The story has many themes, messages and postulations.

32:56 The way I see it, getting Bertholdt to emit that much steam had a secondary purpose; to consume and thin out enough of the muscle that Eren can more easily reach into the nape and cut him out - otherwise there would have been a heck of a lot of Titan meat to cut through to reach the pilot. Tbh, that was actually what I thought the primary purpose of the plan was when I first saw this (it even makes it seem like the Colossal Titan was playing into Armin's hands to a much greater degree when he decided to max out the steam), rather than just distracting Bertholdt to give Eren time to harden. Still, I think this is one of my favorite episodes in this season if not the whole series, what with Levi shredding the Beast Titan, Mikasa exploding Reiner out his Titan, and the Armin/Eren tag-team finally bringing down the Colossal Titan.

Eren and Zeke's powers over the less intelligent Titans seems a bit more unique. The only other intelligent Titan that we know off that could somewhat control other Titans was the Female Titan, who could only attract large numbers of them to her location who then would also try to eat her, but she could not issue commands like Eren and Zeke.

8:06 Not talking about the video specifically but, i think a lot of people overhype Levi for "soloing" Zeke in his titan form. Like sure, it's an impressive feat, but Zeke's transformation isn't even that battle centered anyways, he was skilled, but it ends there. Titanshifters with more battle centered transformations like Eren, Reiner or Annie, have been shown achieving greater feats of strengh, speed and resilience, so it's kinda weird how people just, don't realize how much of an one-sided swept this fight actually is.
