I agree with most of the people here that this is not Trance, although it had some influences of Trance. But.... because it's not Trance, doesnt mean this is crap... Trance is not the only good music genre. This is Progressive House, and that genre has many awesome tracks too, and so does many more genres. Go explore good music, but don't stick with one genre, and if you do, don't hate other styles just because you don't like them, because that makes you an asshole ;)

Pim van de Loo I couldn't have said it better myself. Just because something isn't pure trance doesn't mean its crap. Trance is my favorite genre but I also enjoy progressive house and electro house, even some hardstyle, hands up, dub, etc. There are plenty of tracks out there that are borderline between trance and progressive house as they do have elements of both. I've mixed prog house and trance together in my own sets often and they sound great together. Granted, if someone is expecting to hear pure trance then they may not enjoy a mix or enjoy tracks with influences of multiple genres, but that doesn't make it crap, but that's likely whats happening here. Some people expect a certain sound from Armin and are disappointed if they don't get pure trance.

Pim van de Loo Not even remotely Progressive House. This is the evolution of what's dance music descending to be from the beloved trance. Not saying it's bad, its a matter of opinions in my case but that music the kind that just cashes in on money due to being used extensively in clubs seeing how popular EDM is now.

I'm actually digging this. I'm partial towards epic trance (Photographer, etc.), borderline psytrance (Simon Patterson and crew), and this new progressive trance. It plays well at festivals and large clubrooms, and I believe everyone still has a good, euphoric time hearing it, which is what trance is about to me. It's not progressive house, nor Big Room, they doesn't feel like this. A Cash Cash track doesn't feel like this, nor does a MAKJ track. Nor is it Epic Trance or Psytrance. I still feel like it embodies what trance is about though, even if it's not classical by any means (but hey, that's what Progressive kind of means anyways).

Everyone has there right to their opinion - but have you ever considered that yes AVB has made his money but he makes music purely for his fans now. Having seen him twice at Ushuaia I have never seen a DJ so passionate about playing as he does. I grew up on AVB trance but like everything in life, things change and AVB still wants to play to the masses so he has to produce what people want to currently hear. Sadly the current generation are not in love with trance, which is why he has had to change his genre/style. Again just an opinion :-)

Everyone, attention! This is Trance. Well maybe not all trance, I mean, c'mon, that 4x4 kick and ride pattern isn't fooling no one. The bpm is 130, the staple for trance being 125 to 145, house 125 to 130-32. Now that that is out of the way, there are pryda snares in the "drop". A widely used sample in the house sub genre, big room. I haven't heard many/any pure-bred trance tracks with a pryda snare. After listening to "Rise Up" from Mark Sixma and Kill the Buzz, there is a pryda snare. This is trouse I am guessing. Trance with house influence. Both of the artists have released house tracks. AVB releasing the cheap "Ping Pong" and Mark Sixma releasing one of my favorite Big Room tracks "Rise Up" with Kill the Buzz. Honestly, I can care less about the genre. It is a great track over all. Nice mastering and mixing, and the melody isn't half bad. It would be ashamed if Armin stopped making those Progressive Trance tracks. But, honestly, in the end it is all about the money. Imagine all of the casual people buying the new Armin and Mark Sixma track on iTunes and Beatport. Not only will people who like trance, but people who like house and big room will buy this track. So I guess I have fully explained myself. Final Answer: THIS IS A TROUSE TRACK The End. Find me on Spinnin', Revealed, and many other labels, where I stop the fighting fans through theories... because I am getting paid to do this.... just kidding.

Don't really think artist care but so much what a few people think about their track. The majority of people that click the video click it cuz they are fans of mark and Armin. Also I don't know of many artists who try to make music just for other people. That's not how it works. As an artist you make the music you personally like. Otherwise its damn near impossible to make a decent tune if you are trying to make what you think other people want. Just my two cents. If I was Armin and I got some comments about how I should make a different style or change who I am I would probably just say yo myself they just don't understand. Music doesn't come that way. Esp not in trance. Maybe bubblegum pop music is like that with a team of marketing and label big wigs telling artists to do everything a certain way, but for a producer like Armin and mark they are just going in the studio and making something f that they are into themselves and that they can play out in their sets. Better believe they were sitting in the studio fist pumping and humping up and down sating to themselves this is massive! And it is massive and its a great tune and that's because when they made it they were probably having a blast combining styles and bouncing idea back and forth as I imagine they both are fans of each other. So it must have been fun for them. So I don't think that any comment on KZbin about how they should change the music they make is gonna make any kind of difference in "helping" them. I'm sure they make the exact music that THEY WANT to make. That's why its successful. Chances are if you don't like ur music then no one else will either. And I'm sure they both loved this tune when they made it. Yes its nice when other people like your music but when u vase ur whole career around that then you shoot urself in the foot. The best music comes when u just do what U want to do. Anyway this is just my opinion from the little experience in music that I have. Peace

@blanemurphy3795
@blanemurphy3795 9 жыл бұрын
I tend to like trance more than house. And to me this tune is closer to home than something that hardwell would play. I don't really like hard well all that much. He has a couple brilliant tunes in my opinion ion but he's not really my style typically. Frankly neither is this. But I don't see this tune as a comparison to hardwell. For some reason it still reminds me of trance and its just a natural progression of the music. All genres change and progress. Shit progresive trance changes every couple years completely. Two years ago it was the sound of w&w, now its sixma, Popov, Thompson, DRYM. Its just the natural progression. It'll always change. That's why we buy music. So we can go back and hear our favorite tunes. Who knows what the sound of tomorrow is. Artists get inspired by new stuff and that's why you get a whole wave of one style until some new sound happens. Its totally natural and not really about pleasing the kids I don't think. I think its more of the fact that an artist doesn't wanna make the same song over and over. And they hear the new stuff and wanna take inspiration and incorporate elements they like into their own music. This is why u2 doesn't sound like the Beatles. Its the same basic genre years later. They sound totally different. Music will always change. But that's why there are radio stations that play classic rock or oldies ect ect. Music never dies. But it does move on.

***** One thing I've never understood is why fans of a certain genre are so close minded. Just like you said, trance fans would likely bash Hardwell for no real reason other than he doesn't play trance. He is a great producer though. I've heard the opposite as well though. People who hate trance and say its boring and crap music. Most of the time those people, both sides, aren't really knowledgeable about music at all and have formed an opinion without actually listening to the music. 90% of the people who tell me trance is boring and how much they hate it will listen to me mixing trance and tell me how much they love the music, without knowing what it is. Then when I tell them it was trance they'll be like.. "Really? That's not what I thought trance was" Like I've had some people tell me they thought trance was elevator music. Then you have the group of people who think every type of edm... trance, house, prog, electro, big room... etc.. all of it is just "techno"
@blanemurphy3795
@blanemurphy3795 9 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Sharktooth I understand and agree completely. It can ve very frustrating the close mindedness of people. And your comments on people not knowing at all what trance is is so spot on. In a perfect world everyone would know about the different forms of edm. People around where I live in north Carolina think its all techno. And when I say trance they assume that means elevator music or some weird ambient music that hippies listen to. So most people laugh at me when i tell them i love trance. Then I play something like this and it blows their mind and they are like that's awesome. But its a very lonely feeling sometimes living in a place where no one really knows anything about any dance music at all really. Not even the big commercial american guys like deadmau5 or skrillex. It makes me sad. All the kids listen to rap with aweful negative lyrics cuz they think its the only hardcore music with cool beats and lots of bass. I wish trance and house could grow more here so kids would have positive banging music to listen to instead of all the drug talking, women degrading, money lusting shit on the radio.

Armind never claimed to be a trance label. It even says on their website that tunes released on armind are the very best in trance and progressive and its where Armin chooses to release his stuff. There have been tons of progressive tracks released on armind in the past few years. I'd say armind is much more open to different styles than day ASOT label is. ASOT is more of the pure progressive trance label on armada. Not armind. Armind is just reserved for the biggest hit tunes.

Hussein Kenaan Why do people hate big room so much? Its not causing any issues with trance. Trance still gets released everyday. So why do people care about people who make a tune in a different style. Its not garbage or shit. Its simply another style of music. Why get offended by it? Just listen to what u like... I hate rap but I don't go around rap videos and say its shit and garbage ect ect. Trance is the only genre where the fans are so damn touchy and picky. Like if a tune doesn't fit an exact mold then its crap. Who wants to listen to nothing but pure 138 trance with the exact same bass line in every damn tune. It gets old after a while and that probably why guys like sixma and Armin don't produce every track the same way like that. Even sixma used to make uplifting trance. He probably still does for other people since its a well known fact that he is a very sought after ghost producer. I just don't understand all the hate. Its not to keep up with others. They make the music they like and that that they want to play. Simple as that. You don't sit down in the studio and say...let's make a tune that will go number one...you make a tune that you yourself like. If I happens that Armin and sixma like some more bigroom styles at the moment then so be it. It seems Armin is into a lot of stuff right now since he's released everything from uplifting to progressive trance to edm house all in the past two months. Good for him. That tells me he likes it all and is inspired by all of these styles. Stop with the hate!!!! Ur precious trance isn't going anywhere. Why do you care if armind releases a tune like this. They have been releasing different stuff than trance for years... No one lost armada. Its still a great label for all genres of trance from uplifting to big room and everything in between. Who cares!!!! I really wanna know why this bothers people so much.

I seriously doubt Armin and mark made this track a certain way or style so that they can make money. That's ridiculous to think that. Armin makes this style cuz he felt like it and its what he likes right now probably. Do you seriously think they sat there and saidcok let make a track that will make us money. Noooo. They sat down and had FUN while making this, probably fist pumping and having a great time. I can't stand the whole notion of selling out or accusing an artist or producer of making a tune just to make money. I think probably 99 % of the music out there is made by the person that loves what they made. You make the music u like and play the music you like. Its just as simple as that. There is no grand scheme to sit in the studio and make a track a certain way so that u can get rich. It just doesn't work that way and its kinda ridiculous to imply that it does.

When a fucking original mix is less than 5 minutes you know its going to be garbage... and oh wait? It is. What happened to 7+ minute master pieces? There is soooo much drop bait its unreal, that crappy Sixma sound which he apparently cant change, and just an attempt to please old trance fans slap a bit of boring generic vocals . Dont get me even started on the melody, that sound has been re used over and over and over by better producers. Armin i beg you stick to your new Rising Star stuff and leave Sixma in the dust, hes helping the death of a genre you have done so much for.

Michael R C'mon man. All styles are bigger than ever including the purer uplifting styles. With Armin doing the whole 138 thing he totally brought it into the spotlight and in my opinion saved it from being totally overtaken by the progressive stuff. The uplifting scene is much healthier than it has been in years and its not going g anywhere with wao138 and Armin playing it consistently for a whole hour in the second half of his show for all 705 episodes. Mark sixma isn't killing trance. Everyone used to say the same about w&w a couple years ago and how they were gonna kill trance and all I see is trance stronger than ever. Esp uplifting trance. Its no different in this case. And dude you have anjunabeats as ur avatar. That is a prog house label. Even the guys like audian and ilan bluestone call their own music progressive house. So come on. If u don't believe me look at the sonic academy interviews with them on you tube. When ask what their genre was they both said progressive house. So how can you act like such a trance purist and bust on other prog house tunes when u itself are obviously a prig house fan. Anjunabeats hasn't released a trance tune since like 2010.
