Because Armin said so in interviews. This celebration was a closing of the AO tours. They require a lot of time and energy and it's time for something new he said. Armin tailors his sets to the venue. It's very hard to pull off melodic/progressive stuff in a venue with 35K people. It won't sound as good as in a club.
