I have the phoenix and shoot rh with lh bow. With a drop away rest. The internet said you can't use drop away rest with oneida bows. Just saying sometimes the internet is wrong. I love shooting it and shoot three fingers. I love it, have a great time shooting it, what else matters 🏹. Great video 👍

I was shooting my right handed compound bow left handed thumb release, similar setup as you with hair rest. My arrows were all going to the right (opposite because I am shooting lefty) until I realized if I line up the string on the target and not pay any attention to where the arrow is pointing that the arrow will go wherever the string is lined up to, just have to adjust up or down. In my sight picture the arrow is pointing way left of the target (would point way right if right handed) so much so that I would never think that it would ever hit the target but it does. Which makes sense, the arrow is going to go the direction that the string is pushing it, no matter which way it is pointing, within reason of course.

Hey! I'd like to make a question: I saw you shot right handed but place the arrow on the right side so, have you got a left handed bow or it is made exactly for this purpose? and why did you make this choice instead of placing the arrow as usual? Thanks and great video!
@AdalbertoMaggioJunior2 жыл бұрын
He’s got a left handed bow. He got the bow to put the arrow on the right side so that he can draw with his thumb. The arrow is traditionally put on the right side when drawing with the thumb because of the archer paradox and the torsion of the string when aiming.

Miguel i shoot the Phoenix every week; love this bow ! i shoot ir with fingures and some times using a release, both does work excellent …. but oneida does not work verx good with thumb …. i did try several times …. reason i think is the very steap string angle ! ….the thumb release is slipping all the time on me and is not very consistent …Rg

I just built a lever action bow and thumb release is 100% the way to go. Anyone arguing for three finger simply doesn't know how to shoot thumb.

Love your videos, you are very informative, and pleasant to listen to. I had an Oneida Areo back in the day, it was a very fine working bow, but has heavy, and IMO loud, too loud. so I went back to my stickbow since. It might be time for a new Oneida. Thanks
@lancemckinney9142 жыл бұрын
It's not that your aeroforce was too loud, but that you were probably shooting too light of an arrow in overall weight. I shoot 60# @31 with a 625 grain setup. (2317xx75 /125 tip.) Really tames it down while keeping good hunting speed.
@igotatan12 жыл бұрын
@@lancemckinney914 Your most likely correct, I went with the lightest I could find back in the day, thinking lighter is faster... well know I know, I just shoot instinctive stick bow now, if I'm loud, I have no body to blame it on... lol

How's the weight difference feel in your arm between shooting this and the wood bows, I think those are somewhere around 4-5ibs vs the 1-2ibs of a primative bows. And how's the let off vs no let off?

very different obviously :) way heavier and the let off feels somehow weird for a while
@NMXP2 жыл бұрын
@@ArminHirmer I haven't shot a Oneida or similar but I switched from standard compounds to recurve a few years ago and yeah going from the weight of a compound to a recurve is noticeable but with the style of shooting you do it's not like you're holding your arm up and aiming for 20 seconds before shooting
