Armor Attack: The Death of War Robots??

I just installed the pre-release version of Armor Attack on my android phone. It looks really good! Very cool graphics and amazing robots (so far). Let's hope it doesn't fall into the monetary pit of greed and idiocracy like Pixonic did.

I like how the “characters” are actually tanky(they’re big and strong) compared to WR where if you come out of cover, BANG you get one tapped and titan dead faster than sound(literally) making most robots feel delicate/weak

I’m absolutely LOVING Armor Attack!!! On Silver level 5 and can’t get enough! Not P2W and you can easily grind to build your hanger. I also like that you can with with almost anything as long as you play smart and use tactics. Lastly I really appreciate that it’s not over the top with flying abilities and other things that defy physics

For me, I fully stopped playing war robots because I felt like I'm playing for nothing cuz I barely can upgrade stuff and the old stuff are quite useless... plus my favourite robot was the wetland/a healer bot but with how much damage new weapons do plus they tp in and out and they heal, basically can't

This reminds me of a hand held version of armored core. By far one of my favorite games ever made.

A big portion of balancing did happen in alpha 2 and somewhat 3 also but geyzers are still bit powerful, but balancing will keep being worked on

To be frank, there’s still a long way for Armor Attack to catch up with War Robots! I joined AA recently & noted the followings: (1) the schematic game contents are very few (like beacon fields, team death matches etc) nothing like WR. (2) the visual displays, robots, weapons, hangers, game arenas etc. are not to the level comparable to WR. (3) the different types of in-games are far & few. There may be complaints about WR being a Pay-To-Win game but Armor Attack also needs micro-currencies to speed up the upgrades of robots / weapons and monthly subscriptions for game boxes needed for upgrades. One thing for sure is that War Robots have so many options that you can spend real monies that may not be anyone’s liking. But to say Armor Attack will cause the downfall of War Robots is too far fetched!

AA definitely has a lot to work on, but hopefully they don't go the Pixonic route. WWR was good, but of course, it got ruined. So far, and we must remember that this is the beta stage, AA looks alright. Hopefully they listen to what we want to see in the game.

Armor attack is basically a hybrid of realistic looking Battle of Titans and sci-fi mumbo jumbo from War robots. Hole it won't flop like BoT in terms of development, and won't turn into a greedy money sucking machine like War robots

I left a like right after I saw the look of the hangar, the Spitfire robot, and the map with moving parts. It made me understand much better the appeal of Armor Attack over WR. Battle of Titans (B.o.T.) is my current "WR alternative" although, like Armor Attack as seen here, it's much fairer to say it is its own thing not defined through comparison to that game managed by such a maliciously indifferent or incompetent company. Your wary optimism also leaves me a good impression; I think that company-managed PvP games in general are a gamble not worth taking for long. Armor Attack is mainly meant for PC, right? That means there is a possibility of client-hosting, obtained by a single payment for the needed software and rights, rather than leaving all power to the greedy or unpredictable whims of a company. Even better if said client-hosted option includes the facilities to change attributes and delete/hide/prohibit any of the items they have introduced. Can you imagine if WR did that? We would then be able balance Trident and Orkan back to their original balanced forms (and maybe even their original designs) and undo the Boa redesign to make the 6Pack games more appealing, purge the bots that we consider redundant or dumb such as Shenlou and (imo) Ophion, save Deceiver from its abysmal state fruit of Pixonic's indifference or incompetence (possibly nothing was ever nerfed to that degree of uselessness in the game's history so far), make Bagliore carry 2 mediums instead of 2 heavies on the sides, etc. I still play WR (not paying and not grinding nor watching most ads, only casual) because there's an appeal to unique bots and weapons that have "character" to them and don't look like toys, as you start saying at 2:43, and WR does still have some of special sauce, such as the example of the Brisant family of weapons, the old Thunder (which is actually worth using for its tier/cost, a rare Pixo W, although they did take away the screen shake and possibly some of the firing animation), and designs like Rhino, Frozen Dagon, or any of the 2 versions of Angler. Maybe one day Pixo gets angry and says no more fun for you casuals, watch 1 ad to play 1 battle and if you dont play battles for a week the account is deleted! At that point I would take screenshots as a way to say goodbye to the few builds with character that I have attained and move on to B.o.T. and stug.io and Mindustry and possibly other player-hosted games.

Very good insights! I have no idea what AA will be targeted towards in terms of platforms. I find it interesting that the beta was released on mobile before anything else. Overall, while this mech game looks very good, I don't want to dedicate my time to it like I did with WR. After all, we, or at least I, don't clearly know what the goal of the game is. Be more F2P and response to the community than WR? Make another money grab game under the guise of something different? Experiment with different mechanics? Beats me. But I am going to play as casually as possible. Hopefully it stays fun, and hopefully they fix bugs. A friend on discord mentioned how overpowered the AI currently is, which as I play, I agree with more and more. Speaking of which, are you Adj from 6pack??

Woah woah woah, why is Crisis on that list? That mf hasn't been nerfed at all except for like a 2 second stealth cooldown increase, which isn't even a big nerf.

Even if it wasn't "nerfed into the ground" like a lot of other meta robots, it still had a p2w age. Crisis reaper was such a frustrating setup to run into since it could one shot you regardless of your defense points. Plus, it could do it from a map's length away, without getting touched in the process due to infinite stealth. So when it came out, it was a broken setup, just like everything else that Pixonic has added.

My only issue about armor attack is a bit boring with the same bots using. While I understand there will be more but I'll be sticking with wr until they could give more robots to try out. And adding few more maps. But overall my opinion well war robots is a lot decently better.

Armor attack is actually better and not p2w lookin unlike war robots. Pixonic really wants to make money from the people who wants to buy meta. And war robots it’s always about paying things that are new, no maps, no good game modes, and mostly likely nerfing everything

I would agree that the currency system needs to be fixed. It's hard to earn silver at this point. But, this is also why it's still beta, I suppose.

I think this game will not be competitor of WR. This is more militaly-like game. WR is Fantasy TPS game. Not militaly. If Armor attack change design of Robots, and no vibration when got damage, this game will be competitor of WR. Now this game's competitor is WoT or BoT.
