Jpup Abston as a kid I never saw anything wrong with the original cast with Zack being black and being the black ranger, Trini being the yellow ranger (though I never heard yellow being used as a skin color until years after MMPR was over) etc. and it obviously didn't cause too much complaining since it took a while before they changed the rangers during the second season. I still like Adam but he didn't fit the role like Zack did in the original series. His hip-hop kido was my favorite part of his character.

I should add that I still don't think that the black ranger being black was a bad thing. The creators did that, they had other black men tryout for Zack and obviously chose Walter Jones to play him and I imagine the same may have been done with Thuy Trang and Trini. Heck! I was a blue eyed boy with glasses, my favorite color was blue and my favorite dinosaur was a triceratops. The point was that kids relate to characters that look and have things they like, and it worked! It worked for years for a show that was only supposed to have so many episodes. NONE of the creators imagined the series would take off like it did! The only part that really sucks for the actors was that they did not get the royalties that each of them rightfully deserved! That's what really made me mad when I found that out. I got a lot of Power Rangers stuff as a child thinking 1. I can be a Power Ranger or pretend I was driving the zords or rewatch episodes (my grandmother would also record it whenI was at school) and 2. That the actors who were real life heroes to me that made me interested in martial arts the money they rightfully deserved. I almost want to find the jerks that gipped them and punch them!

Jpup Abston While I understand that, I only started watching Power Rangers once Adam became the Black Ranger, and then I watched Zeo and Turbo and I just grew accustomed to Adam being the Black/Green Ranger. I only found out about Zack years later, so for me, Adam will always be better, just because I grew up with him.

@@Geminias I’ll be the first to admit as a kid and even as an adult I am probably being unfair to Rocky as I grew up watching Jason having him become my favourite character then when he left I had the attitude of what who the hell is this Adam and Aisha grew on me over time and I liked there characters but everytime Rocky came on I’d always think I wonder what Jason would do in this situation as an adult I don’t mind Rocky as much but it’s most likely that my opinion is based on nostalgia and what I grew up watching that I’ll always prefer Jason over Rocky

Same here RJ Cyler would have been a better fit for the role of Zack. Ludi Lynn just didn't have that personality Walter Jones. The Zack in the 2017 movie looked more like Adam also. At first when I saw the movie I was confused by the casting.

Eh maybe, Walter Jones left because he wanted to get paid more which to be honest he did rightfully deserve. Power Rangers at that time grew to the highest it had ever been. So being an older fan I actually can understand where he was coming from but we saw more of Johnny Bosch then Walter Jones grow as an actor. But yeah I agree Adam was better than Zack.

Hm the ninja Zach from a universe if the original rangers never left angel grove, makes me wonder what happens in that universe since maybe Kim, Billy, and Tommy were the ones to leave which would make the colors more strange Jason will become the white ranger because he was the former leader of the team, and in the Draken universe he was supposed to be the white ranger until the evil Tommy took it, Rocky would become the red ranger like normal, Aisha would become the pink ranger, and Adam would be blue, and in Zeo Jason would be red the red ranger, but I don’t know who would give up the power when Tanya joined the team, and Tommy would return to become the gold ranger, but when they got to Turbo Tommy would become the blue ranger, and when he leaves being a ranger some other person would take up being the blue ranger, maybe have a character who would later get hurt when the other Turbo team goes to space, and when the turbo team goes to space Zach would be the one to help Carlos, and then Tommy years later would become the black ranger, but if none of the original members left then maybe Kim might leave for gymnastics, or she stays being a ranger then in Zeo Jason would be blue, and the gold ranger would go to a new character the rangers meet, and in turbo it stays the same, but Jason is blue, Zach is green, and the girls are the same color, but the former gold ranger would become the blue ranger because he’d be younger, but would stay on earth for the rangers in space, and then Tommy would go black, maybe if Kim stayed she’d get married with Tommy, and she would return as the pink Turbo ranger, or pink Zeo for the ninja steel crossover

elijah oye I absolutely agree with you. Rewatch the show in Netflix and Adam didn’t have any character to him while he was the black ranger. If you go to his character description online he barely has anything listed under personality. It just lists him as quiet & shy. He had a much better character as green Zeo and turbo. The only time I liked him as black ranger was in Overdrive, he felt more cemented. Edit: I feel most people just liked him because that’s what they grew up with and they only cared about fighting.

Ok i hate to be that guy. I love zack but his run was very limited he was a joy but when he left the show and never returned that was it. Adam returned and been with series longer. He's been in the movies supported it in fan events like they both have but cmon. Ur comparing the comics to the actual TV show. Like you are trying to balance it with the lack of content Zack has. He was a great black ranger and would love to see him return but it's no comparison Adam wins this easily. Like if this was Rocky vs Jason ok I see u got more of a fight. Jason was leader rocky never was. Jason was the 6th ranger even if he was a shitty one. Jason returned in zeo and technically they both ended in turbo but Jason returned in forever red and will return again. It goes to Jason easily for mere importance and status. Rocky was in the 1st movie and that was awesome. This comparison is getting old. I still find it fucked up that rocky wasn't in Forever red. The original doesn't mean superior.
