Good day, whoever's watching. I made a side by side video of pre and post nerf Balteus. The left/blue one is pre and the right/green one is post. The split screen reminds me of Virtual On. I'm getting old lol 😆
TBH, the Balteus nerf really isn't that big of a deal. The main reason why I struggled with it the 1st time was because I hadn't adjusted to AC gameplay yet. For me, that meant not being stubborn with my build and integrating the jump/hover to my gameplay.
To elaborate, my initial loadout was almost the same as my loadout on the video. The only difference was that I had a laser rifle on my right arm. I had trouble breaking the shield with my loadout but I still stuck with it for several tries. I finally changed to the pulse gun and that helped with the shield. After that, I could bring its HP down to 50% regularly but I kept having trouble with the flamethrower attacks.
It was obvious that you need to jump when he does the ground aoe but I had trouble with the swipes. I just finished playing Remnant 2 on Apocalypse and I was still playing AC6 like R2. I mostly stayed on the ground and quick boosted to dodge attacks thinking QB has i-frames. When I finally tried to jump/hover all flamethrower attacks, the fight became a lot easier.
Sorry for rambling.
TL;DR
1. Loadout must include weapons that can quickly stun bosses and deal high damage.
2. Remember that you can also jump/hover to dodge attacks.
3. This isn't Dark Souls. You can be more aggressive.
One last thing. I don't have the original footage of my fight with Balteus pre-nerf so I just downloaded the video I uploaded to youtube. That's why the qualities are different. You can check my pre-nerf Balteus fight with the loadout here:
