Probably the darkest and grittiest of the Armored Core intros. A future where the Ravens fought and fought til they wiped each other out. It really represented the end of an era. The end of the old type ACs.

Not a word of dialog or narration and it perfectly conveys what the world and the Ravens have descended into after the end of Nexus. Before the fight might have ended after the quad leg AC was thrown through the building, now it ends in a merciless execution.

After digging around, I found out that these two ACs exist in the game, but not as characters within Last Raven's story. They're both AI opponents that can be fought in the arena. The bipedal AC is Cascade Range (rank 7) while the quad is supposed to be Scarlet Spider (rank 14) with the only slight change being a rocket launcher as the left back-mounted weapon instead of the laser canon featured in the intro.

I dont think its scarlet spider execatly, thanks to the AI upscaled version I can make out the core amd arms are different from the 14th ranker, the core being Uranus and arms are Macaque, along with the left hand machinegun, missle launcher and linear gun. Then again its not unheard of pilots changing their loadout to suit different needs.

The Linear Laser Rifle. Python I believe. It has a charge up then fires a high velocity laser blast. People learned when they hear the charge up to boost in one direction. Then the second it fires boost the other direction and it's useless. It was a neat and novel weapon, and was a noob killer. But you beat someone with it twice and they wise up to you.

@@b.1099 No? Infantry can hide in a lot of places a armored vehicle can't see or go to and kill/incapacitate said vehicle. Maybe conscripts are dumb but professionally trained grunts and more elite infantry can't really afford to be dumb. Cavalry is a component that assists the Infantry, or rather, both the Cavalry and Infantry assist eachother. Infantry holds ground and protect Cav, Cav punches through for Infantry or helps assist in the defense. Combined arms. We don't see infantry in AC as probably a game thing or deliberate decision by fromsoft.

At 1:09-1:15, that "Core" is one of, if not "the MOST" shittiest useless Cores ever designed in the series. It has an actual weapon fused into and IS a part of that core by default... and it does absolutely positively nothing.

If I recall correctly, it's an anti missile laser. It automatically shoots down incoming missiles but you can't actively use it to attack.
