I would not argue here. The Aaliyah is a cool looking craft and I know the ac community has made it even cooler with their own colours and modifications.

It really was the best platform for a high-speed close combat build, the head had the fastest lock-on and the arms had pretty close to the best stats for tracking and blade usage, such that I kept using both parts when I upgraded to the Lahire. Plus even if you're going to keep the internals stock you can free up a lot of EN drain by swapping out the back weapon for a missile or ballistic cannon.

Had a really satisfying playthrough last year blowing through the game with my custom Aaliyah. Replaced the back boosters with the more efficient Hogire because I would never actually be going in reverse, swapped to the more efficient Linstant O.B. upgraded the machine gun to the motorcobra and replaced the blade and back unit with the arm mounted plasma rifle. Don't recall exact numbers but I invested frs primarily into the generator, forward boster speed, and arm mobility with some in turning and kp rectification.

@@EloquentiaSerpentis and if I remember correctly, Judith locking system (forgot past name, been a while) is a better internal than the inblue (forgot its name too) as inblue is best for blade and gun and Judith is more flexible allowing fast (single) locking missiles to run with the Aaliyah’s dual rifle style.

The Aaliyah just a heavy hitter when done right. I loved missing around with different ideas for it. Always going for a Mid to Close range set up that was just fast. It will always have a place in my heart.

In FA, giving the AALIYAH the GN-Sobrero generator pretty much solves its energy problem. Essentially, improving on Supplice's already good platform.

Well, that comes at the expense of KP Output (and Primal Armor, as a consequence), and the AALIYAH is not exactly the best middleweight when it comes to physical defense.

Fun fact this was actually my first AC and my introduction into the series. I developed mine with the intetion of it looking like a normal model but it its internal parts FCS, Engine, overboost etc were that of a fast paced NEXT that could get in and out of a situation fast. What i got was a mid weight AC that could take decent Damage with speed of that of a light weight model. I always ended up changing the weapons and parts from time to time to fit the mission better so i ended up making dozens of different versions. I think the latest one was AresV4.0

I like it. Its always nice to hear where others started and their next. For me i think i always went with a GA sunshine when i was a teen, it only now as at the age of *cough* That i fell in love with my quad based nexts. Like you i switch around parts for certain missions and with the channel i have had to build a next that can last when i try to capture footage.

This was the first AC I ever used. It definitely suited my taste in fast combat, but I had quite the tendency to burn energy and make myself a sitting duck. That wound up scaring me into a grenade weilding tank until I eventually learned how to make fast ACs with good energy management.

The thing is basicly gundam Exia of Armored Core. CQC focused, Fast but balanced enought to not become overspecialized. Basicly it just screams Protagonist machine.

But it's all black and pointy sleek, like a cross between a Race Car and a Knife. For me that makes it an excellent "Bad Guy" machine, which is one of the many reasons I love it.

Well as one famous GA commander said.. "Kept you waiting huh". The problem with live streaming for me is in the UK you need a tv licence to watch streams or stream yourself and since I rarely watch television anymore, I got rid of my licence a few years back. Saved me money to buy more copies of armoured core games and food.

I recently played through For Answer on regulation 1.40 and literally tore through the Collared matches almost without any defeats- using just the default 03 with two Hitman MGs. CUBE took two tries and White Glint took three. The Aaliyah is a monster.

@@armoredcorelore Tons of fun! They scratch an itch in gaming I've had for a while. Lots of modern games are live service so it doesn't feel like you have any meaningful progression, but feeling the performance of your AC increase with decisions you make is really rewarding.

I like the idea of showing videos that test NEXTs and then share your thoughts on them; will be useful for newer players that aren't sure what kind of craft they want and don't have the funds to toy around with layouts. Or players like me that would stick to what they know and wouldn't venture into other design types until later. (I used to build heavy but mobile NEXTs and focus on attacking from the air, this changed when I tried the White Glint NEXT and started using custom versions of that instead)

Perhaps, but with a heavy enough craft and a load of missiles I did it :p the biggest problem was keeping a lock on the craft since it moved so much and would often hide behind buildings

@@anthonywalker6268 No glitch Overweight nexts can still be piloted by the player and AI. However only the player will suffer the penalty which is a huge hit to mobility for the 04 Alliyah case causing its mobility to go from 54 to 35 when overweight. As for Unsung that next and others are also overweight so taking this information it is very possible that overweight next could be piloted in lore, but this may have only be possible for high ams pilots. Which taking Aretha into account would mean only a pilot of high ams capability would be able to get the mutant craft to move explaining why Joshua is selected as a pilot.

A trick with AC4's version of the 03-AALIYAH is to switch off the LaserBlade and run dual rifles at first, then when you unlock the 07-MOONLIGHT, put that in the arm opposite of the 03-MOTORCOBRA. Equip back weapons as needed(watch that LoadCap), retune the Generator for EN capacity and regen, and it becomes more of a nightmare up close than it already is.

The Motorcobra and Moonlight make a deadly combination for the Aaliyah. Add in the back boosters and you will rapidly dispatch your opposition. Saddly with all that it's incapable of taking on more powerful and faster ACs without taking severe damage. Still one of my preferred ACs from AC4A.

The 04 Alicia legs are wonderful if they're paired with other parts. their one of the only reverse-jointed legs that have any decent turning capacity, and i've played lightweight midrangers that swap out the en hungry Aaliyah parts for something more sustainable. I also love how all the early designs of AC4 take clear inspiration from the Aaliyah. the Tellus's shoulders and chasis share a very similar look even if they're bulkier and more armroed. the Soluh legs by eqbal look just like the Aaliyah legs with any excess armor stripped away. Rosenthal's Hogire and even their later Lancel look like a boxier version of the Aaliyah. the Rayleonard Original is very clearly the mother of all NEXTs, and i love that level of detail in those games

I live this thing as a starter in both 4 and 4A. I never understood why it's classified as a high mobility mech though. It's fast and it's boosters are top tier, but it can't turn to save it's life.

It has high movility whenever you want to fly, hover and quick boost, its one of the bes to use dragon slayer and end up nexts in 2-3 hits, mostly 3 hits with full primal armor of the enemy, but yes it really has a big amount of energy comsumption, but if you manage that you will be deadly af.

I can't say much as I've always favored GA builds with high AP with high power ballistic weapons and LOTS of missiles (for NEXT on NEXT combat anyways) because I partially just am not great at and also don't like dodging. I'd rather pilot something that's just a wall of armor and firepower that I can absolutely hammer my enemy with. With all that out of the way every time I've tried piloting this craft I ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT stand it's energy management, I always feel like if I do any quick boosting or try to get off the ground then BOOM I'm out of energy.

I admit i too like to pilot NEXTs with lots of firepower and who can just sit there and take it. And I'm glad to see the AALIYAH weakness is as strong as ever. Saying that however it was a thrill to pilot and I completed the game with the craft with so close calls.

I've found the best way to utilize the 03 frame is by swapping out the generator for something with better capacity/output and the thrusters with really high EN efficiency as this solves the energy issue completely unless you bring lots of heavy energy weapons

@@gigaspheal9439 yeah. If you still want high speed combat, Aaliyah main boosters alone do the trick in itself, as it helps you close the distance. For dogging, Aaliyah secondaries tend to be a little too strong with keeping in the pocket.

Indeed, though their longevity can become an issue in extended combat, especially against enemies with huge Blast area weapons like Warcar, Raiden, Opening or honestly half of GA's nexts which will end you if you're not constantly dodging their attacks, I'm also very preferential of Aerial combat, as I like the airborne Agility the Aayiliah and Lahire frames have

I would personally classify the 03 and 04 as Drifters. By using drifting in close quarters, you can circle around to your enemy's flanks and attack them in positions where they can't return the favor. The only difference between the two is being that one is designed to be able to jump over the enemy and obstacles a bit better. Due to their low energy rates, Advanced ground maneuvers are your best key as they are more efficient energy wise. Combine this with chain boosting and charge boosting, and you can get to multiple enemies flanks before they even realize that you're there. This is why this model is favored for many Bladers. With the right skill and technique you can close large distances quickly while still remaining as energy efficient as possible. It does fail in aerial combat however due to this energy issue. The best way to mitigate that is to just stay planted and use your long range weapons to deal with aerial foes

@@armoredcorelore Indeed. I played 4th gen apmost every day back on the 360. To this day 1 of my favorite games. Use to do 7v1 online alot. I tend to favor hyper builds personally, but I did make a blader based off the 03. Tuned it so with a quick turn after a blade strike, it would give you a full 360 degree swipe allowing you to take out multiple weaker enemies in a single attack. It worked best in tight places such as inside Great Wall. Its a solid model imo. And its arms have the highest maneuverability making them ideal for cqc

for more proof that the 03 is a much better mech... there is a reason why the Aaliyah generator, main, and side boosters were used in the Original White Glint piloted by Joshua O'brien. Its because those parts, while maybe not able to make the full Aaliyah loadout a true beast, they were definitely able to be used with other AC frame parts to make a legendary ass mech.

Well if we're talking about IGN trailers. One was for project force which showed off noblesse oblige while the other trailer is not linked it is just a show case (This does not include others that used the intro of AC4 within them). However if we're looking into the intro of AC4, the lynx battling is Berlioz during its is strongly suggested to be the National dismantlement war. This is thanks to ACFA where this clip is used when Orca talk about the national dismantlement war and the Pax Economica.

In ACFA, The 03-Aaliya despite being old, It's still has pretty solid solid stats, Though the high speed can be a bit hard to control for beginners. My preference was to have a Cannon (Mostly the Sirius) on the left back for firing in tandem with an Assault rifle in the right hand, The I tuned it to be more suited for aerial combat. That was my main build, Not the most exciting setup, But it got the job done.

I do enjoy this model (the 03 that is) but for answer made blading a much more via le weapon, in 4 blading felt slow and cumbersome, in FA it was given the speed it rightfully deserved and so even shorter more powerful blades became way more viable

@@armoredcorelore yeah really, I remember first playing 4 and thinking blading was very slow, it really wasn't a viable form of combat unless you used the moonlight and even then, that was energy intensive. By the time for answer came out, they upped the speed drastically, dual blade builds became a whole style of combat now, twas glorious

After watching your videos I started playing AC 4 and FA and I use the Aliyah in both games. It's pretty strong in FA and the starting loadouts are pretty powerful although I don't like the energy blade. I swap out the blade with a second machinegun. Not very far in either game yet. Still haven't decided on a real name for my pilot or mech, still just Unknown.

It's exciting using this AC b/c it really makes you feel like an under dog in a lot of fights, especially it being considered outdated. Being able to compete with veteran pilots in advanced ACs in the Aaliyah feels special b/c you know a lot of odds are stacked against you.

Ah yes the Aaliyah with machine guns is a classic build and a good one too. I admit I'm not the biggest blade fan so i tend not to use it on my next. However i am glad to hear you started playing the game, hope you enjoy what they have to offer.

I love aaliyah, i have not played fa but i end most missions on 4 because dragon slayer its broken and it let me kill a lot of nexts with 2-3 hits including primal armor at full gauge, but it has a really bad drawback when dealing with energy comsumption and long distance battles, i had to use another weapons or another next to battle sniper rifle nexts, but in most cases y only were using dragon slayer and end up killing ac in 1 hit and nexts in 2-3 hits, this allow me finish some missions where there are too much enemies and my ammo of other weapons does not let me do it.

It is also named the Sultan and is a plasma cannon back weapon, very powerful and best used after the hitman01 has taken down primal armour for large damage.

A few very skilled pilots used this craft, we have Berlioz the number one lynx and Anzu the ranked third lynx in AC4 and then we have Shinkai, Hari and of course even the player can use this next in ACFA.

Armored Core 4 was my first Armored Core game; it's what got me to collect the PS2 era games (Silent Line and Nexus being my favorites) I remember spending a really long time at the starting menu trying to figure out which of the Starter mechs I should pilot for the optimized start. Weighing the pros, cons, and being clueless what my "fighting style" is. Then I realized "Screw it, I'm here to have fun. I'm going to play the Opening Movie's mech, its the reason I got the game in the first place". Had to switch the HITMAN with the MARVE, but the Aaliyah is amazing to pilot. No regrets. And the Aaliyah is the baseline / template I have in mind when I design my Armored Cores.

I like it, Fun is the key to a lot of items so why not ac? The Aaliyah has a lot going for it and i admit with this channel i have expanded my ac collection a lot since.
