The second place winner that can't escape always being behind Mirage, this is the history of Crest Industries found in the armored core series.

I can only assume that the reason why Crest regional forces in Nexus chose to rebel is probably because they managed to figure out what the new resource exactly was and wanted it all considering their rather high looks towards AI, its probably that HQ didn't order the assault on the Navis city, but chose to cover up for the Regional forces as one could say Crest is a sucker for anything AI related for keeping order.

Crest... the red Vergil to Mirage's blue Dante. Also manufacturer of my favorite Sniper Rifle in all of AC games - CR-WR88RS3 (or CWG-SRF-40 as seen in video for a brief moment). Part of my fondness for that weapon is due to the fact said sniper rifle was given as a bonus to arguably easiest mission in Nexus. Solid performance overall was quite welcome though. Real workhorse that gets the job done.

Yeargh. Crest. Of all the Big 3, I think they were most self-destructive. They start AC3 in the #1 spot, above Mirage and Kisaragi. What do they do with that power? They protect a malfunctioning Controller, up to the point of trying to guilt trip you when you to to destroy the Controller. "Go, let's see what kind of world will be born from your decisions" or something like that, coming from a Crest representative. Then in Silent Line, they have the gall to try to recover the Controller's data by sending Cypress, that Clover Knight chick, and the entertainer guy. And those 3 lose 3v1. Then they have ChatGPT running all their fortresses on the surface, so when Mirage screws with the satellite, they have to send Ravens to power down their fortress (ChatGPT in real life could go out of control SO fast). Oh, and let's not talk about them building Lawdas Factory INSIDE the Silent Line, so it gets regularly bombarded by the laser satellite! What do they do in Nexus? They betray their ally, Navis, by sacking their HQ AND trying to kill off the convoy of survivors, including civilians. They try to take over Mirage's base with a large force lead by Agraya, but get repulsed by a single AC. Then when their tactical group refuses the order to withdraw, they decide to destroy their own expeditionary force, including Genobee, the rank 1 pilot at the time (similar to Alliance HQ vs. Alliance Tactical in Last Raven). Especially in Nexus, imagine the scenario where Crest honestly assists Navis in resisting Mirage. The theme of the game would have been much different. It seems Navis' employees were the only ones capable of keeping the suicide weapons in check, so if Navis were able to keep hold of the mine, the suicide weapons might not have ever launched their massive attack. Or even if the weapons got out of control, maybe there'd have been more survivors in Bayload City. Kisaragi would have either joined in, or at least remained neutral; they wouldn't have abandoned Navis and started attacking joint-ventures in this scenario. This could have lead to a scenario where the more evenly matched sides wear each other down, and there are more personal freedoms in a world with reduced corporate power. Unfortunately, From Software would probably never make such a story, since it violates the requirement for their games to be focused entirely on bleak nihilism. Compare this with Mirage in Nexus, where they're cutthroat and aggressive. They do fly a bunch of transports over Bayload City, which get shot down, but other than that one instance, I don't remember Mirage being self-destructive. The only Mirage areas you fight in are that one dam during that revenge mission on that filtration plant, which you took from Navis anyway. You never even fight in any major Mirage facilities or territories. So, Mirage was aggressive, but knew they had the resources to risk on the endeavor; their important assets were never at risk. Crest, on the other hand, did not do the proper calculations and lost much of their military. I think if the suicide weapons didn't destroy the world in Nexus, there'd be a drawn-out period of misery where Mirage is the uncontested power in the world and manages tyrannically. This is all because Crest won the Nexus war for Mirage.

A major Crest product you missed is that they were the first company to create human plus, as Genobee and Agraya, two Crest only ACs, both use human plus and Genobee is directly confirmed to be enhanced by the complete works guide.
@armoredcorelore
@armoredcorelore Жыл бұрын
Ah see i would argue that Crest did not create Human plus as really the op intensify part is a Kisaragi creation from AC3 till Silent line. Now this does not rule out Crest did not buy or acquire this part and started to build it themselves however we know a lot of raven's who never had anything to do with crest also have human plus like crow who mostly work for Kisaragi and is human plus, In truth it would not surprise me if Crest was trying to human plus all thier in house ravens and Kisaragi offered human plus enchants services for the right price.

@@armoredcorelore Kisaragi’s human plus is an Optional Part, it’s not a cybernetic enhancement. Crest IS a cybernetic enhancement and it’s why Genobee talks like a robot. On top of that, AI use optional large with Human Plus abilities which Kisaragi’s OPI can’t do.

2:14 Jeez, look at the size of that lock. This is why Machinegun reign supreme in the realm of Armored Core and taxation. 3:57 "Oops, I press the wrong button." Armoredcorelore mumble to himself, but shrug it off because nobody will care anyway, except that one person. CREST ind. is like Norman Osborn and Seto Kaiba combined. They have the money, they have the power, they sacrifice a lot of time and effort into their belief, but ended up on their own demise from even bigger le fishe au chocolat. Which is why I dub them as KEKST ind.. Their saving grace is the product, like SKYEYE, CLB-SOLID, HECTO, and of course, the mighty TITAN. Other than TITAN, their missile lineup is lackluster to me, since the best general use goes to Mirage's MWM-S560/12 and MWM-DM24/1.

AC1, Project Phantasma, Master of Arena, AC2 and Another Age is one timeline. AC3, Silent Line, Nexus and Last Raven is another timeline. AC4, For Answer, AC5 and Verdict day is the third and final timeline until 6 comes out. A lot of the corporations that appear in the games all have similar attributes, and it's fair to say "X corporation from Y game is similar to X corporations from Z game" (i.e. Crest is similar to Chrome and Emeraude) but they are also different enough to have their own takes on things (views of the world, etc). The most similar any corporation from any other game could be part design (Crest, Emeraude and Chrome have all "blocky" and angular parts while Murakumo Millennium, Zio Matrix and Mirage have all sleek and smooth designs)
