The concept of Noblesse Oblige is linked to elitist authoritarianism, it's a fancy way to say that the rich and powerful have a "responsibility" to make decisions for those without money and power. Unlike many mercenary Lynxes, this pilot in 4A gave the sense that he was an aristocrat in an expensive NEXT who was a true believer in the corporations right to rule from the sky. Sam Riegel gave a great over the top performance of a condescending rich pilot who is offended that ORCA Lynxes dont "know their place".

This AC points out one big point in the AC4 universe, having to do with money. The back weapons he mounts aren't used on any other AC, meaning Rosenthal only ever made 2 or 3 sets of the parts (if the player's inventory is canon). We have no resources to know if Rosenthal ever made a profit on the parts. This leads to the recognition that, with so few Nexts in existence, the units, weapons, and parts, were probably not made to turn a profit, but to secure corporate interests. I have some questions. Did corporate Lynx have to pay for their own parts and weapons, like the main character, or did their respective corporations allow them to use the parts for free? How were the parts priced? Why were mercs, the Maghrib Liberation Front, and Orca, allowed to purchase Next parts at all? Were credits used for anything besides buying Next parts? I suspect Credits might have been a special pseudo-currency where you could only buy AC parts, and actual income might have been quite low. But hey, that's just a theory! A comment theory!
@armoredcorelore2 жыл бұрын
All very good questions and i can't give a solid answers to all of them but my book of ac theories says that for the selling of nexts its a toss up as even today corporations sell items to mercenary groups and others without question for profit plus i am sure it was no unheard of for a lynx to go rouge and join these group with their nexts. Also since corporations could not directly attack each other they could secretly help these groups with the idea they would undermine the other corporations. As for orca that was a just a puppet of omer so any parts they needed i am sure we're given to them to keep the wheels of the closed plan moving. Your point about parts for corporation lynx also got my theory brain going thinking about Berlioz who basically could use any part he wanted much like the player, this left me strongly learning towards he had to personally pay for these parts as unlike other universes where corporations where basically trying to bribe ravens with parts to take thier missions. No corporation in ac4 wants to give another corporations next any help or advantage as such most Lynx seem to have a corporation sponsor which they stick too much like the choice the player had in ac4. Which if they are like our worlds sponsors they would help a lynx get started maybe with a frame and some credits, but since this is ac4 it also possible that being a lynx with a corporation sponsor meant better living conditions, better food and not having to do slave labour like most of earths population. But i love these questions and maybe one day we will have our answers.
@gigaspheal94392 жыл бұрын
@@armoredcorelore as far as Berlioz goes, it's stated in his simulation bio that the other companies allow him to use their parts in recognition of his deeds in the National Dismantlement War. He isn't the "Hero of the National Dismantlement War" for nothing after all. And considering the honor code of the few Arisawa members you encounter Berlioz having the Ogoto could very easily be part of that deal as well

I completely missed that Leonhardt was credited with designing Noblesse in ACFA… That brings up SO many questions! Did he survive the battle at Marche and design it? Gerald Gendlin disgusts me with his hypocrisy. Mostly in how someone in his line of work condescends towards the player when you fight him. I’m sure it’s very convenient to uphold a code of honor when your employers would likely never ask you to help people who can’t afford it. Unlike Wynn, I think he would have unquestioningly obeyed the League’s orders to leave ORCA alone.

Used the wings for a bit, but had to swap out them out for laser cannons that were lighter and had not ammo. Though it is interesting to think that while the wings are cool they are not practical. Overweight, and an odd ammo size leaving your last shot with 2 rounds. I would not be surprised if Fromsoft wanted to hint at something. Cool doesn't win battles.
@armoredcorelore2 жыл бұрын
I would not put it past them. But i can see why the swap as you say other cannons do a better job and the weight of these wings are what make this next overweight. But then again i do like fancy designs, so I'll have to stand on the middle ground here.

The AC4 a.i. / pilot for Noblesse Oblige was weak and barely doing anything as he would NEVER use the cannons and facing him in a one-on-one fight would be easy. They changed that in AC:FA where the A.I. is more skilled and actually uses the back cannons.
