@@Shear666 Finding out's going to be all part of the fun, not that I'd complain if it was a different setting. Rather than story reasons, I believe there will be NEXT-like content just to give people those visual and MAYBE even gameplay options. A chest piece very similar to Oracle's from Armored Core Nexus has been seen, but I can't tell if it has the Exceed Orbit parts even visually, much less the function as well. But with more budget, technology and ways of doing DLC these days, I'm sure they're weighing many fun options.

I got my S Rank by pile driving him in the first stage of the fight while I had a UNAC preparing to launch a Giga missile. After you hit him to around 20k or so the Giga missle will finish him off and then the cut scene plays. Right after this happens he gets hit by the 2nd Giga missile and it ends the fight. It's likely the fastest way to beat this boss, took me 3 tries because my UNAC kept missing with it some how. As for your AC make it energy efficient with a good CIWS equipped and you should take pretty much no damage, use two pile drivers, preferably the ones that do 60k damage. Your UNAC on the other hand will need the proper programming, setting it to execute it's special weapon function right when the fight begins. Make sure the build it's self has good energy conductivity and resistance so that it could shoot off two Giga missiles.

There are numerous tactics with UNACs. This tutorial was meant to be a bit more accessible without configuring UNACs as not everyone really does that, for the way it works may seem a little cryptic. So yes, that would make it flashy, but I think our method is more forgiving since you can really screw up some boost dodges, get hit a lot and still get S Rank.

I just find it funny how after you get used to piloting NEXTs through AC4 and AC4A, you then have to go back and get used to piloting NORMALs in ACV and ACVD, only to end up fighting a NEXT complete with Kojima particles in mission 10 in ACVD, all the while feeling like you're piloting an MT. lol. Long time AC player, btw. Long live Raven's Nest.

lol This boss was WAYYYYY WAY WAAAAAAAYYYYYY over the top! I seriously did not know what the fuck hit me lol! At some point, I gave up all together then accepted that I will never beat him and kept watching the finale battle on Youtibe instead of beating it myself upon each replay lol. That is until I purchased some DLC weapons. One of them is a BIG ASS machine gun and extremely fast and powerful! Both. Me and my UNAC on tank legs equipped with that brutal Machine gun installed on both arms. Now suddenly, that Boss is a piece of cake to me lol. We kill him pretty fast now 😂! He's still ridiculous though! But I'm glad FromSoft gave me a break with that powerful Machine gun through DLC! Almost impossible for me to now lose on that last battle lol! LOVE THIS GAME!

VD really fixed their mistake in V. Also versing NEXT was the best thing. Since you finally find out just exactly what it feels like going up against them as fodders that get shot at during one of those missions. Also 8ball will always be the best edgy black and red AC boss. (From Master of Arena). The first time i found out that he's an AI was also mind blowing.

@@wanderingbufoon Me personally played VD before AC4A. So fighting the last boss seemed out of place to me at first lol! But now.....after finally playing AC4A and reading a handful of lucid comments on here -- I like what they did here!! Perfect actually. Still a pain, but overall clever and fits right in to have implemented White Glint NEXT as our last boss. And some say J is the protagonist ( us ) of AC4 lol. If accurate -- then VERY interesting. But in reality, we will never know unless a direct sequel will take place. All in all, Armored Core franchise is by far my favorite MECH game. Hands down.

I know people give a lot of hate on the Mech Designs in AC-V and Verdict day. Dut I kinda like em. They feel more rugged and realistic, more like tanks with legs rather than a super fast Gundam.

@@mk1533 I've played Armored Core since AC2 and all the way up to ACLR for past titles and those aren't as fast pace since if you drain the generator, it will take absurdly long to recharge, not to mention you lose a lot of mobility, pretty much it's centered around conservation as ammo is expensive. Also in ACLR you can lose body parts of your AC which will cost you and gives you a handicap in a battle.

If you really want what AC has to offer, its a mix of Master of Arena and 4(A). MoA is only the climb. A PvP if you will. While the 4th series are the best anime mecha game. The only thing that set it off from the others is the shield. The kojima burst is a hated but welcomed addition as it provided an infinite ammo built in weapon in case you ran out.

thank you for this strat! I had no idea these rifles were that strong. my strategy was the same as yours, but I used pile drivers in both hands (needed a total of 4 to get to stage 2). my problem is choosing weapons to shoot though. after watching your vid I took him down first try. ACVD is my first Armored Core, and even though many don't like 5th gen, I did. it even inspires me to try out others, since they are rated better (already bought For Answer). anyway, Armored Core VI comes out in 2 months, and we all know it's gonna be badass! cheers!

Also, just want to add some update: So I decided to try AC4 and AC:FA a while back ago (took me long enough), and now I can see why people kinda disappointed with ACV's design. Not gonna lie, I love AC:FA's design, I think it had the best design overall. I won't defend my point on this anymore since I don't have any strong argument. I still like ACV's AC tho, as they're basically normals on AC4. Since AC4 and ACV is in the same universe and the fact that we beat J who's piloting a NEXT with a normals is just neat

Lol what? As a vet AC fan, i hated the design on the V series because they looked like chibi gundam wanna be without the gundam part that the 4 series had. In terms of gameplay, the kick and the building climb added more to the game and i welcome it. It made more importance to the vertically of the environment and it wasnt just used as a wall to hide anymore. Also close combat has been a challenge that you want to do since in previous games, its hard to do. The dual mode, scan mode and combat mode was iffy. I think i hated it because of the color change and the constant reminder of warnings. So overall, the story was below meh but not completely shit. Design is what really killed me. It tried to be anime in which never blended well with AC. I mean a bird? And white glint having tentacles looking like tubes? Thats soo dumb. I mean project phantasma was odd looking but it was still mechanical rather than monsterous. You can be anime, the 4th series did that but to change it so much that you make monsters instead of something that of a machine is just a design flaw. It encompasses the chibi gundam look by a mile in terms of bad design. Thats the equivalent of a ww2 FPS games then all of a sudden having scifi guns that is made of out cthulu tentacles. AC has an identity of having designs consistent to its functionality. If its bulky, its tanky, its slow, its heavy, its high armoured. If its skinny and long, its low armoured, fast, etc. This game has the design not matching up with those. Also, fucking wings. Like, i know they were experimental weapons and this is after the events of the 4 series but damn. 4th is said to be the pinnacle of tech. Which is why its anime AF but you only dealt with ultra large machines. Not some animal mech with flapping wings. At least make the wings not behave like its made out of fleshy, flexible, contracting body part. Which is like that tentacle tubing that this White Glint has.

They only move in the wind, not as prehensile limbs. And they don't look even remotely fleshy. - Calling monstrous-looking Mecha a "design flaw"? I believe the entirety of the Neon Genesis Evangelion fanbase would like to have a word with you. - "WW2 FPS then suddenly having sci-fi guns made from Cthulhu tentacles" is somehow a bad thing? Not that they had tentacles, but it shows that you have never played Resistance: Fall of Man, a WW2 shooter that depicted an alternate reality where all sides had to team up to fight off a beastly alien invasion. Sounds stupid, but it's actually a pretty good game if you can open your mind, something you appear to have trouble doing.

But this is thousands of years ofter FA...the "Towers" are the remnantes of the Cradles, containing blueprints on Arms Forts and NEXT technology, which is why this looks like White Glint, and you fight a derelict Spirit of Motherwill in another mission.

We have no idea (at least to my current knowledge it was never stated in game) what era the Dark Raven actually existed in. Whether we're talking about the Nine Breaker, the Last Raven, the Destroy Path Lynx (Whom are also occasionally referred to as Raven's in 4) from For Answer, or the Player Raven from V is never really made clear.

General Coma to each his own :/ most mech fans are practically gundam fans and ACs always had that gundan aesthetic to them. it's fine to like a preferred playstyle but straight calling fa/4 garbage especially when it drew in more people is a little close minded and is something we need less more off in this already tiny fanbase. i like v (havent played vd though) but i think some things couldve been handled better. part weaknesses were a turn off, light weights for the most part suck, lack of increased altitude when boosting makes traversing environments clunky, and power boosting is feels kinda pointless at times since u get hit anyways. some fights also feel kinda drawn out which i never really felt with fa. if anything the older games were faster in comparison. v shouldve opted to go for more for balance between the two gameplays. v/vd feels more tactical, but 4 rewards more for being a skillful pilot, allowing you to actually to take anything on in your on way, making you feel powerful as a mech designer should. i do love a lot of changes they did with v though. longer missions, legit bosses, more focus on team fights, and whatnot. though still feel like the level designs and story need improvement. it hasnt really changed much since tge past ACs and that needs to change for this game should do well. also a legit training camp for newbies like in nine breaker to help newbies.

Sure, its this approach where you have to listen and read carefully to know whats going on but seriously, it gets old and is overused for sure. Another thing is that the AI will use Assault Armor faster if you stick near him, just be sure to get out of the way when you see the signs of him using it.

I'm pretty sure low quality rendering is part of the reason it looks like that. Art style is decent, and Scan Mode helps. It's a real battlefield, with sandstorms, rain, everything obscuring your vision. As always with AC games on PS this one too is suffering from framerate drops, and this is the only downside I see. Severe one too.

the fact u fight whats essentially a Prototype NEXT makes my theory that the V games take places hundreds f years post ForAnswers all the more valid. Since by the end of ACFA the world is utterly devastated by kojima particle contamination.

Not a prototype - N-WGIX is translated to NEXT/New White Glint 9, which may imply that it is a nine generation of what once was Line Ark's White Glint. Think of it as bastardized WG as the primal armor goes haywire in second phase. It is made with one purpose only now - to obliterate any opposition. Which makes this fight even more epic as you use post-tech AC to defeat ancient technology that created this mess you're in. As the Foundation states: "This machine has brought destruction upon the world IN THE PAST. The Dark Raven is nothing but an absurd myth" - He is literally referring to the older games. YOU as a Player, You are the Dark Raven. So basically a Raven whose exploits survived through scriptures, ancient data of some kind.

Makes sense in the lore. The had to abandon Kojima reactors because to the massive environmental damage they wound up causing. Without the insane output of those things they had to go back to less advanced tech with lower power ceilings.

Music, enemy sound effects, and the presentation for this boss was a lot better though. Most bosses in FA were just fly into arms fort and energy blade its left tire until the entire thing explodes. I think the directing/voice acting in verdict day are a big step up too tbh.

i played ac4a all the way through to ss rank but competitively the game was dead by that time their were a few people who played regularly but once 5 and verdict day released they left for that and i went pc the lahire build was amazing i tended to use a rifle and assault rifle for my right and left hands a chain gun on my shoulder and a kojima missle on my other shoulder

you actually only need 3 ammos (direct hits) having 4 is more than you need. it's easy if you can get that close with the physical blade i use the last mission for harvesting credits since it still rewards you with ultimate wapons you'll end up with a rank S that rewards for about 150k plus selling all the extra UWs i get about 8.5M credits just for playing it 6 times i've been experimenting on using the 2nd UW to instantly kill it. but i suck at using UWs also tried the Giga missile but it only damaged it for about half so it needs an assembly that enables it to execute twice, but i don't know if it will withstand taking damages. unless changing the legs to heavyweight for extra def and AP i also use the anti missile shoulder units instead of rocket launchers so i don't have to be dodgy all the time and just focus on rifling it

So basically, we are fighting a NEXT that was made and formerly piloted by a guy that eats Normals (Basically what you're piloting) for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Timeline is ACFA->AC5->ACVD. Since AC5 NEXT technology has been lost. Both ACV and ACVD final bosses are NEXTs. Mind=blown. I first tought that AC5 is like a prequel, but the timeline is going along with release dates.

There's a easier way to beat this mission. Use dual rifles with the highest ammo and buff the damage to Max then equip a dual arm unit with heat rockets any would do and use the same method as the physical blade with the rockets while using rifles. As for the mech a light with ether bipedal or reverse joint, fast charge generator and low consumption boadters at consumption 8k you can high boast forever like the boss. Use a wide angle frc or whatever it's called it can be ether one but it has to be wide angle. You won't need back weapons.

Neopup Khajiitsters My AC: Heavy reverse joint, Jotun core, balanced head, the default kinetic, dual chemical shoulders. Balanced generator for high output, very high speed boosters, no recon. Senrty Right Back, Kinetic blade tuned for 3 rapid fire and 1 damage Right front, High damage chaingun, tuned for 2 damage and 3 accuracy, front left, High impact pistol back left, tuned for 2 rapid fire and 1 damage. Shoulders have extra ammo, high capacity. J will go after the sentries, keep only 2 out, wide spacing, any work, I prefer high capacity thermal. You use this during Stage 1, but I prefer to use my UNAC as a distraction while going in for the chaingun and blade why he stops. Stage 2, my tank UNAC built for maximum ap is almost dead, just leave it. start placing sentry guns, 2 at a time, and hit him with you pistol. The high impact force will slow him, and you can nail a hard hit with your blade, The pistol only has 25 shots, use carefully. When its dead, purge the blade as well for the extra mobility, go into scan mode and keep us with the turrets. You should only have the chaingun as a offensive weapon, use up the rest of that, make sure the shots hit. S/A rank.
