I really adore FROM's hyper fixation on fire in their games. Fire is often deified in these games, be it Dark souls, Elden ring, or AC6; it's made into this almost supernatural force that can bridge souls together, destroy things not meant to be broken, or represent humanity as a whole. Coral looks a lot like fire, and I think that's intentional; shocker. And in every ending, we see how this "Coral Flame" can shape Rubicon and the entire universe. "Fire is a consumer, it takes and eats to no end with no regard for anything or anyone. But on the other hand, whilst fire may burn down fields, it alone can turn the dough into bread, it alone can turn ore into steel, it alone can make ash from which a flower may bloom. What matters most is our control and understanding of it; our ability to work with this great destroyer to make it into a creator." Avatar the last airbender... probably. I also think this applies to Raven; we start out as this killing machine. We don't really care why we're here; we just know that we have a job to do, and we do it. But after meeting Ayre, Rusty, Walter, Carla, Chatty, Iguazu, Michigan, Snail, Allmind, Nightfall Raven, Dolmayan, etc-; every colorful character under Rubicon's sun! We come to love and care about Rubicon 3. We start viewing the issues and conflicts in 3d. We're shaped into someone who has to choose the future of this Giant crispy rock for better or worse with the kicker being that we now have "loved ones" on this planet. And I think it to be no coincidence that In Alea Lacta Est, we merge with this Coral Flame and embody what fire truly is; the greatest destroyer and creator we know of.

i was just scrolling mindlessley when i saw this. the original was my favorite piece in the game, and this just....... you captured it perfectly. its making me reminisce on the fight. while it doesnt have the same hard hitting depression as the original piece it feels like what would play after walter was defeated, where we are mourning. it has that subtle and hopeful feeling tuned up and it makes the piece feel as if we are remembering out friend and using his memory as resolve to press on. beautiful piece.
