Greg: I regret my part in the culture war Also Greg: all my opinions I had during my anti-sjw era were correct
@Necromancer12302 ай бұрын
This is why I always hate the whole “there are some points I still agree with” thing when it’s deployed in videos like this, it’s basically just a obfuscation tactic. It’s just a ploy to play both sides of the argument by refusing to actually take a position.

Yes, my friend. Because, unfortunately, during that period there were many slippages on the left side, and even the integration in a certain ideological bubble did not help much to discern exceptions to generalizations. Plus, the SJWs were extremely dishonest in their relationship with him, just like Jake is doing now.

And maybe I would have remained a prisoner in it if I had been a little more stupid and had not become aware of the fact that the extreme right does not have a position based on good faith. But how did I get into this bubble? Being worried about the left slips. I thought I was fighting for a right cause, to save the left, when in fact I had become an ultimate idiot in the alt-right army. However, I'm glad that I realized at some point that those slips are exceptions and not the general position of the left. I also thought elevator gate was blown out of proportion at the time. Like I got the woman's complaints (I'm bad at names), they seemed reasonable, but the severity of her reaction seemed disproportionate, and then the chud reaction knocked me flat on my ass in how horrifically disproportionate it was compared to her complaints. I was also like 18 at the time, and in the 15 years since I've learned about how constantly being harassed/needled/marginalized and having to keep it bottled up causes a person to explode and have a disproportionately strong reaction to what still ends up being a reasonable complaint.

Whenever "men's rights" comes up, I always think of this quote from Appleseed that goes something like "they're people who build their own cages and hide in them." The patriarchy hurts men too, but men are also the ones who built the system, so they're hurting themselves while elevating themselves at the same time. It's so disheartening that Greg doesn't realize patriarchy/toxic masculinity, and capitalism is the root of most of his woes.

He seems incapable of owning up to beinh wrong. He has to be manipulated, tricked, or he thinks he was actually right but just didn't present thing the right way. The part where he says "contrapoint said I was bullying that person and then I went and bullied that person" ... well yeah??? clearly you were being a bully then, nobody forced you to do bullying. Imagine being in court like "your honor I can't be accused of murder. I only murdered that person because I was being accused of attempting to murder them". Also when he starts whining about him struggling with his identity and feeling pressured by people wanting him to be some way. Tough shit. I'm trans I know the feeling. While their arguments do hold up extremely well, I feel like the political scene has changed so much that they had to either adapt or die. Not to say that conservatives and their ilk have changed. Their mask has changed or more appropriately, at this point there is no mask. Like how can you debate the ideas of a person that just wants to put you before a firing squad? You can't, there is not debating this stuff anymore with those people. This is the reason I think people like TJ and others are not as relevant as they used to be. Debate is dead, or at best it was just for conservative to bide time for their eventual purging of the 'undesirables'.
