Just came back from the armrit conference 2024. It was amazing the speakers, the new innovations, and I even got a copy of Doug Boyd’s book on remote scanning. Every tech should learn about what’s out there and all the new innovations in the field of MRI. I’m Proud to be a part of it.

Radio frequency is part of the electromagnetic spectrum so it is radiation. If we’re getting technical, radiology is the study of radiation which includes RF radiation. I like what they’re saying about changing the name of our field to medical imaging, however I’m not too sure on having different credentialing bodies. The reason is that I feel that we’re already too divided. We’re stronger in numbers and should be under one umbrella.

You guys should consider accommodating foreign trained MRI technologist, not making them go through school again despite having a good standard Education.

Where are you guys based out of? I keep hearing “over in California” so just curious because I am located in California and jobs seem competitive regardless of being certified ARRT, ARMRIT or both.

Hey @Kir_isaac we are based out of Arizona. Definitely can vary across the board. Our bases is slightly out dated and more in relation to Leading University Hospitals more then Outpatient imaging centers. But it is good to hear that things are finally becoming Competitive regardless of the certification.

Funny at 15 min, the strong stomach would be a downside. Luckily it is all a whole lot cleaner when doing mri with animals. Who would have thought 😅
