Nice review Andrean. After 3 weeks I have come to the same conclusion. At 85 kg with HA880/180 the stinkbug was surprisingly easy to start. I had reservation due to the 20" narrowness. But it turns out it is not an issue. The 6'1" length provided a good stable platform and hull water release. At the 10 mast setting the ML 75 board/foil combo came alive. Minimum swing weight. All carving and transitions were smooth. Pumping is actually very good. Just need to get used to the cadence. A true one board quiver from 3.5 to 6.5m conditions. It does work in light wind taxi with some power in the wing. Not the most efficient but doable. You just need to have your feet closer to the middle of the board. At this point wondering if I can make the HA780/140 as my daily driver instead. Can't predict the future the ML shape might be the future for winging? Armstrong hit a home run with this one.

Right on Brother! I share your sentiment, Armie did well with the ML boards. Have you tried the DWP series, specifically the 755 front wing? I strongly encourage you to try them (685 and 755) first before committing to HAs. I sold all my HAs V1 and V2 after riding the 755, it's like the 925 just better in every aspect. I feel the HAs V2 are more for prone foiling than winging.

Super excited about your build. The Armie 75L foil box starts 415mm from the bottom edge of the board. The foil box itself is 320mm, so the balance point is 575mm from the bottom edge of the board. Hope this helps.

I'm living in Miami so sharing similar conditions. Currently I have only one Kt Dragonfly 95l and happy with it for summer days. Soon season will start and I was thinking to replace it with ML from Armstrong. Previous season I was on 88l from North. What do you think about 1 board quiver 65l ? Never had experience with sinker boards. Minimum was equal to my weight which is about 80 kilo. Could you please share your wing quiver and foils for our conditions. I'm intermediate.

Thank you for your comment! Very interesting thought about one board quiver, that's exactly what I am thinking about at 74kg weight to have one 65L board. I went out with the 58L FG board yesterday when it was slight offshore and it was pain to start with spotty wind. Went out today at noon when it was blowing 12kts with the 75L it was super nice. Being 80kg you'll be closer to my situation with the 58L FG and may struggle when wind is lighter. Find me on the local whatsup wingfoiler group, happy to lend you the 75L ML for a day. Thank you again! Andrean

Which tails do you use on yr setups and which Shimming. Can you also share your Mast pos.? Last i notice you have a cool board leash can you share the model? Thx Bro and Aloha🤙🏾

Right on Brother! You're going to love the ML75. Since I got the ML I only rode the 58FG once as our winds are pretty light during the summer here in FL. I strongly encourage you to look into the DWP front wings. I sold all my HAs, they're too slow for winging. I personally ride mostly the 755. Harness line is North and belt is WIP, fairly lightweight setup. Mast position is 3.5 counting from back of the mast plate. Aloha!

Great review! I am looking to find a new all year-round board for myself and this ML board seems to be the most suitable, I am contemplating between the 85L/75L, I weight about 83kg with gear so not sure if I would be able to get up on foil easily with the 75L with winds ranging 11-13kts... Now that you felt the 75L would you have gone with the 65L one?
@andreannovakov9410
@andreannovakov9410 2 ай бұрын
That's a tough choice. You're about 8-9 kg heavier that me, so the 75L will definitely get you going in 11-13 kts, but you will be on the water line so the board will feel a bit more pitchy. I would say this - if you're going to use the ML as single do-it-all board then go with the 75L. If you're going to have two boards, one for >15kts and one for

Hi Andrean, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the ML75. I'm about the same weight as you and also ride the FG58L. Love this board when the conditions are right > ~15kt but can be a struggle if the wind drops. I can't decide if I should go for ML65 or ML75... What's your thoughts on the tradeoff maneuverability / ease of starting. What would you recommend?

@andreannovakov9410 2 ай бұрын
That's a very interesting question! I think the answer would depend on your use case. If you are trying to end up with only one board, then I would say go with the ML65. If you plan on having two boards, then ML75 would be a better choice. The overlap between FG58 and ML65 is significant, the ML65 being more versatile. If you like the FG you'll certainly love the ML. ML takes off easier and carves better, doesn't pump as well. Let me know what you think after you get your ML board. Thank you for your comment!

@@andreannovakov9410 many thanks for your review and answer. Super cool that you share your knowledge and opinion. I went with the ML75 and I love it! My low end improved so much that it gave me the confidence to use my smaller foil and do long rides in our bay. Great carving and I love going upwind and downwinding with the swell with the ML. I am now very curious about trying out faster / glidier foils. Any thoughts on the DWP 685 vs ha680?

@@fafaruman Congrats on your new ML75!! About the front wings, my honest opinion is that HAs are for prone foiling specific, too much kick and lift is not linear. I went with DWP755 and never looked back at the HAs, in fact I sold all my HAs. For my conditions 685 and 680 are too small, so couldn't give you any feedback. I now have one powered type foil kit Armie DWP755 and for light days I use SABFOIL Razor Pro 975 and also 875 for in between days. Hope this helps and congrats again! Thank you for your comment! I would recommend for you to try the 58L FG board first, it's surprisingly easy to mount. I am a beginner/intermediate rider and have no issue starting on the 58L when conditions are right. If the 58L does not work you, only then look into the 70L FG. Mid-lengths are better for light conditions. So stoked about your place...one day will come and visit!

Does the mast position you use account for the swing weight even though its the same position as the FG?
@andreannovakov9410
@andreannovakov9410 2 ай бұрын
The mast position using Armie's numbering on the boards is the same for both, FG and ML, at 3.5 measuring from the bottom tip of the mast plate. Seems that my foot position is identical on both boards relative to the foot straps. I only change my stance width based on how large front wing is, larger the wing..wider the stance. Cheers

That's a tough question. The ML85 would be just below the water surface for you and that would make mounting the board a bit more challenging. Also, nose of the board is pretty narrow...so upward pitch when taxing is a must at your weight. Hard to say on ML85. Have you tried any of the Armie DW boards? The folks here in Miami are absolutely stoked riding them in light conditions. I am a small rider so ML works better for me, please consider DW and maybe borrow one from your Armie dealer for a day. Let me know what you decide. Cheers

I'm 88kg with gear on and have the 85ML. Absolutely loving it. We have only light winds and I get up much earlier and can take a smaller foil. The back of the board is below the water a bit but it quickly raises when you have a little wind. I can only recommend it. I'm an intermediate rider.

I had Duotone Sky Style 65L for about a year and loved the board, construction was as good as Armstrong. However, Duotone foil box is too short for Armstrong foils or any of the newer generation like Axis ART PRO and SABFOIL Razor Pro. Aside from the foil tracks being too short, Duotone makes awesome boards.
