Awesome__thanks for teaching the nuts and bolts of leadership. As opposed to introspective metephysical lectures on mindset like I climbed Everset "because it was there."

William, thank you for your comment. I agree with you completely. While mindset is important, In my experience, I have rarely seen “mindset” focused approaches be successful long term. You often have to show people their behavior and define problems in their behavior before you can address mindset. A lot of times, changing behavior, even superficially at first, can change mindset. In psychology for example, you can’t change someone’s fear of something, like heights, without exposing them to heights. They have to voluntarily choose to behave in a way that is counter to their mindset in order to change their mindset. Please share this video! If I can get enough views, I will continue to publish new content. If you have any questions or would like to discuss leadership further you can DM me on Twitter @austincaroe

How do you get into the mindset of being a leader? I'm in the navy and I've only been in 2 years, so I have no leadership experience, but I just put on E5. How would I get "into the loop" of leading? Nobody really see's e4 as an authorative rank because it's a freebie, and for us, E5 is right in the middle. As someone who isn't being seen as a leader, or really taken seriously, I just don't know the steps I need to take.
@doublee49302 жыл бұрын
You have different types of leaders. You have people who are naturally born as a leader who take charge, lead by example (which is my personal favorite), aren't afraid to fail, don't care what others think ECT...then you have the person who wasn't born a leader that has to make a decision because he isn't quite sure if he wants to be that person.... we'll, I'll tell you man. No one is perfect. Your past leadership wasn't perfect and your leadership's leaders wasn't perfect because we are all human. I think for me transitioning from someone who was not a born leader...I had to make the decision that I wanted to make a difference. My thought process was...when I made E5 that I wanted to be that face of an NCO when a young soldier thinks of a sergeant there first time coming to their unit straight outta training. As a sergeant or as they say a leader of soldiers...you have the responsibility of taking care, mentoring and shaping the next generation after you leave the military. They are like children and their are yours to mold. We all have to take the uniform off one day. We can't be soldiers forever so making that first step in saying I WILL to put the weight on ur back and carry the forefront of leading the way that's how you change your mindset from Jr enlisted, to non commissioned officer, to a leader.
