Nobody had a career like Arn Anderson. For more than three decades he has been the epitome of “old school.” Hear him as you’ve never heard him before every Tuesday at 6am Eastern as you gives you a peak behind the curtain for the first time ever. Each week Conrad Thompson will examine Arn’s days in the territories, becoming an Anderson, creating the Four Horsemen in the NWA, becoming a Hall of Famer, and being a producer behind the scenes for years for WWE proving “The Enforcer” has a story unlike anyone else. Known for his trademark Spinebuster and incredible “promos” in front of the camera, it’s his timing and wit that has kept “the boys” in stitches behind the scenes. Hear for yourself why ARN is the new “symbol of excellence” in professional wrestling podcasting exclusively on Westwood One Podcast Network, Tuesdays at 6am Eastern.

AA is so respectful when talking about older wrestlers and not trying to tear anyone down. Listening to his interviews has made him one of my favorite wrestlers ever. Can't help but judge a wrestler based on how he is in real life.

Surprised they didn't mention the Road Warriors coming out to, "Iron Man". Man, that REALLY got your blood pumping back in the day!! 🤣

NWA, midsouth Memphis, and Mid-South Watts all used real music. The Steiners used GNR welcome to the jungle. This was when they made music videos in the 80s.

As a white kid from Wisconsin, JYD was my favorite WWF guy. Road Warriors were my faves from AWA/NWA. Both were well-known for entrance music.

I remember the old wwf cartoon had JYD running with Hogan and the other faces. When you're a main character on a cartoon playing yourself, you're over.

In the early 80s JYD was the main man in the Mid South territory. In New Orleans JYD was more well known than the mayor. When JYD wrestled in the Super Dome that place went wild.

That's funny Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Hacksaw Butch Reed were on the same card together. Vince never would've let that happen. "Well goaddamn, we know the entire world know you as the Road Warriors but we've already got an Ultimate Warrior so you're gonna have to change your names pal!"

McMahon wasn't the only one who avoided wrestlers having the same nicknames. Back in the old AWA Verne had King Kong Bundy wrestle as Boom Boom Bundy because he had Bruiser Brody wrestle as King Kong Brody, Brody was called King Kong because Bruiser was taken by Dick the Bruiser.

Hard to argue it, as it was done so many times with success all over the territories. Coco Ware used it in Memphis, too, The Midnight Rider (Dusty Rhodes and Bill Watts), Red River Jack (Bruiser Brody), Mr. R (Tommy Rich), They Yellow Dog (Barry Windham) The James Boys (Dusty and Magnum TA) all used a variation of that gimmick, too.

JCP was always just squash matches. Always beating up a jobber. Although I loved it as a kid in the 70s and 80s I see it now and I’m like wow. That’s boring lol. I still love most of the talent they had but wwe whether cartoonish as it is had names vs names quite often. Does anyone think besides running outta money that contributed to the downfall. Btw only my thoughts
