In listening to what i could between the shouting and finger-pointing in this interview, what she said was, China's expenditure on education increased annually by 20%. But in the beginning Arnab said that she claimed China spent 20% of its budget on education annually. These are two totally different things and it would seem that Arnab got his own facts wrong in even starting the debate or maybe she is the one who misspoke. Whatever the case there is a huge difference between a something on a budget being 20%, and increasing expenditure by 20% annually. Are you a Pakistani, by any chance?

Oh my god..Reading the comments here, I am surprised that almost nobody is able to understand that she is dodging the facts. Dont just play down Arnab's arguments because you hate him. Listen to the discussion. China spends 3.93% of its GDP on education. Modi said that China spends 20% of its GDP on education, which is 5 times of the actual, that is an error of 600%, which is either clear ignorance or deliberate manipulation or may be a mistake. Instead of accepting their mistake, smriti says that China's spending on education is growing by 20% year on year, which is irrelevant to what Modi has said. Modi said about spending and NOT growth on spending which Ms.Irani is quoting. This is clear manipulation. Please see the merit of argument and not just the face.

you should not play with maths, if it was 0% and Mr Modi would have quoted it 1%, even though is it is 1% more of the total GDP, the error here would be infinite percentage, so your 600% error statement actually shows the high number which is not worth mentioned. I don't bother what he might have said by mistake but the way it is being represented. additionally, I am very disappointed by seeing the news hours debating on one statement and percentage of educational part of GDP. in my point of view it is important to get the facts right first and talk on the problem and solutions of budgeting in education sector.

In Bihar assembly election-2015, each and every ellite,sensible and Educated people gave their vote to BJP,bcoz nothing was better for Bihar than that.Each & every staff of every India' national level teaching institution, either it was FIITJEE,Allen,Resonance,T.I.M.E,Career launcher,etc,voted for BJP,not bcoz of Hindutva,but bcoz Bihar badly needed it as the India needed it in 2014 Lok sabha election.After poll results, Every faces among them were upset and depressed.But each&every illiterate,dumb@ss and biased people casted their vote to the great g@@nd alliance of Laloo,Nitish and Congress.Very rare Muslim casted their votes in favour of BJP. And the most interesting fact was every Educated&sensible person,whether they were Yadav,Kurmi,OBC,SC&ST and even Muslim, casted their votes for BJP,irrespective of their Lalu Bhaiya and Nitish Bhaiya. Congress ne toh pura India ko vote kliye Hindu-Muslim me baant diya h. Ask a true Muslim,he will do full maa-behen of Congress.
