Kurt Rosenwinkel - Guitar
Mark Turner - Tenor Sax
Aaron Goldberg - Piano
Joe Martin - Bass

Sorry about the poor quality. Discovered this video from the now dead Nunoalpi jazz channel. Thought i'd put it back on youtube after i found it on dailymotion. This is the quality from the dailymotion vidéo.
Hope you enjoy anyway.

Great playing from everyone, but as a drummer, I'm continuously amazed about Jeff Ballard's creativity and short reaction time to everything he hears around

I wish Kurt would play this tune live a lot more. I have only seen one live version of this tune. This is my favorite tune from him. It's so simple and just beautiful playing.

I heard that he was pretty much this good when he got to Berklee. My teacher was there, and was taught by the same guy that taught Kurt. He said that he was pretty much one of the best in the world by the time he left, touring with Gary Burton (the dean of the school). Insaaaane!

Owen Burns He's one of my Berklee buddies. His dad played piano, but really Kurt is an extremely quick learner. We were in theory together and Gary Burton just kept moving him up higher levels from class to class. I remember waiting on a lesson and he put Kurt and Seamus Blake in a practice room and said "Write something, I will check in after Sam's lesson" They were just growing together, it was insane. Like Weather Report on steroids. Scott Kinsey Jim Black Mark Turner all there. I had a trio with Matthew Garrison and Julian Coryell, then Chris Cheek and Jesse Williams and I would busk at Harvard Square playing standards.

I love Kurt Rosenwinkel, but wow... Jeff Ballard doesn't quit. He'll look exhausted at 1min into a piece and just speed up at 12min. Unbelievable combination.

If the chord has F#, B, C#, E, and A#, you could write it either as F#11 (it doesn't matter that the 9th is omitted), or F#7(add11) or F#7(add4). because there are so many ways to voice a chord (especially in jazz), what octave the 3rd or 4th is becomes almost irrelevant when you're writing the name of the chord (so you can write any of the aforementioned chord names). however you never see "add3." If the 3 is included, it is never a supsended chord. it has an added 4th. hopes this helps.

Wouldn't a F#7susadd3 be just a F#7? Your suspending the third and then adding it? I'm confused, somebody tell me what notes would be in this chord.

Who cares about the time signature, its 12/8 and the melody is on beats1&3&5 for all of you who want to count along. Its 12/8 look beyond that because its about the groove, not the numbers.
