Liverpool supporter....I think United are 'better', but this depends on the issues, injuries and game plan being addressed. At the moment there's sliding all on all three. However, last season's game at Anfield showed how a mass injury list and apparent lack of any consistent tactical planning could be addressed by common sense tactics on the day. So I'll wait and see how this season's game goes. I'm not making any predictions.

liverpool deserve to be top, they are out performing all other clubs in all metrics so the position in the league is correct, the games havent been perfect but Liverpool are definetly where they belong, do they still have room to improve ofc, you could argue the point gap could be a little less but to argue another team belongs in position 1 right now is a tough corner to fight in buddy and a losing 1.

Look at what Arne Slot says of the team. he says United have better players than where they are on the table. What does it mean? Bruno Fernandes and his team of players are not giving much as they should. Consider that two seasons ago, Liverpool were at the same place but it took the selflessness of Arnold and Salah combined to whip the interest of the team and keep going and barely two seasons with determination they're back to the top. The player leaders at Liverpool are more committed in defeat than the United players I must admit.

The league table is massively misleading at the moment. There is currently on 10 points between 10 teams between 5th and 14th, it would only takes a run of 4-5 wins, which is not completely unheard of, to catapult a team up the league table to the top 6. And when you look at United’s league fixtures, after Liverpool (where they’ll get annihilated) they have 7 games against teams that under normal circumstances, you’d expect them to win, Fulham away is probably the toughest on current form.

United will get destroyed by Liverpool this weekend but either Newcastle or Spurs will also drop points as they play each other, City play West Ham so West Ham will probably drop points, Brighton play Arsenal, then Newcastle play Arsenal next and Tottenham play Liverpool. So losing to Liverpool won’t be a complete disaster. Saying it’s impossible that a team full of internationals can’t put a run together against weak opposition, while competing against weak opposition show you either have no clue about football or are you completely blinded to reality out of hatred

Actually, it would take far more than that run of 4-5 games, because you are assuming that none of the clubs above them will get points during that time. Which is a very, very low probability, and maybe even impossible based on fixtures against other sides in that group of 10 teams.
