Hi . 1:53 I've heard before someone said that turn it on . Why did he put the object in the middle of phrase verb?! Could you explain that?!😢 I appreciate 🙏👍🙏
@ArnelsEverydayEnglish2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. "Turn it on" is correct. If your object is a pronoun (it, him, her, them, etc.), it must go in the middle of a separable phrasal verb. This is what I said in my lesson: Correct: turn it on Incorrect: turn on it I hope this helps?

My name is Hukomran, and I am from Afghanistan. I have been following your lessons and have learned a lot from you. Today, I have a question. I searched in many places but couldn't find detailed information. If you could kindly provide a detailed explanation, either in a video or here, I would greatly appreciate it. The question is: In the present simple tense, for a positive sentence, we add 's' or 'es' to the verb with singular subjects. 'I' is also singular, so why don't we add 's' or 'es' to the verb in the case of 'I'?"
@ArnelsEverydayEnglish2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for following me Hukomran! That's a great question. "I" is singular, but we only add "s/es" to the 3rd person singular. "I" = 1st person singular: I go "He/She/It" = 3rd person singular: He / She / It goes I hope this helps! :)

Hi ,Arnel I want to ask you aquistion. I used to hear when( did) come in a phrase the verb should be a base verb, but yesterday I've heard someone saying, "I did had yoga" so what is this?
@ArnelsEverydayEnglish2 ай бұрын
Hi Yasmina. You are correct, "did" needs the base verb. "I did had yoga" is not correct English. I'm not sure what the context of the situation is, but that sentence is not correct. :)

Please reply. (Please don't mind , it's too long comment) Is this information correct? (from Chat GPT) When you see a present participle (an -ing form) at the beginning of a sentence, ask yourself this simple question: 1. Is there an immediate reaction? If the second action (main verb) happens because of the first action (participle), it often means "as soon as." Example: "Hearing a loud noise, she looked outside." Here, the noise causes her to look outside right away. So, it means "as soon as she heard the noise." 2. Are the actions happening together without one causing the other? If both actions happen at the same time, but neither one causes the other, it usually means "while." Example: "Reading a book, he sipped his coffee." Here, reading doesn’t cause him to drink coffee; he’s just doing both at the same time. So, it means "while." Quick Check: Does one action make the other happen? Yes → It means "as soon as" No, just happening together → It means "while" I hope this way makes it even clearer!

Hi Arnel Difference between come up and figure out please.
@ArnelsEverydayEnglish2 ай бұрын
"Figure out" is the same as "work out." They both mean to find the answer to a problem. "Come up with" emphasizes thinking of a NEW idea, story, plan, solution. examples: -I lost my job. I have to work out/figure out what to do. -I love riddles. I love working them out / figuring them out. -We didn't know what to call our cat, but Jenny came up with "Tigris" because our cat looks like a tiger. -Our business is failing. We have to come up with a plan to save it. I hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for your excellent work. I’m interested in buying the PDF phrasal verbs, but I got confused. In the description has a price , but if click, appears another price and says book 1. Are really 2 books or just one? What’s the true price? Thanks

Hi Manuel, thank you so much for your question! I'm so sorry this was confusing. I just checked my store, and there is only 1 price. Sometimes, different currencies can show. Arnel, just a quick question. You said if my object is a pronoun it must go in the middle. But what about, for example, get over it or I already got over him? Many thanks in advance.
@ArnelsEverydayEnglish2 ай бұрын
That's such a good question Leo. That rule only applies to separable phrasal verbs. So because "get over" cannot be separated, the object (including) pronouns must go after it. I should have mentioned this in the lesson! I hope this clarifies things :)

Last week I had a big problem with my neighbors, I told them many times to turn down the tv although, they were turning it up more !!, I tryed to work this issue out but they didn't want to drop off their arrogance. What is going on in their minds. Honestly, I ran out off my patience. At this time, I was trying to come up with an idea that could get rid of their noise. I looked into some solutions but nothing useful. My mind burnt out and I had to put things away and pick up a breath. Finally I realized that I have to catch on with their lifestyle and stop complaining.
@ArnelsEverydayEnglish2 ай бұрын
Such a creative story Abanoub! You have a great understanding of the phrasal verbs from this lesson and you've added a few more common ones! * "Drop off" and "pick up" are only used for physical things in terms of "collecting" and "leaving at a location." :)
