There will never be an actor more iconic than arnold. He could play a killer robot, a commando, danny devitos twin, the first pregnant man, he can do comedy, he can do action, he ca do serious. An on top of that, there isn’t a more instantly recognizable face and voice than his.

The fact that he's done all that, been the face of the golden age of bodybuilding, and a fairly positive governor of one of the most influential states in the USA, he's basically solidified himself as an icon. A flawed icon, but I think his flaws make him more approachable, more genuine.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that someone actually told Arnold that he would never be a leading man. It's pretty inspiring to know that against all odds he managed to prove them wrong by becoming one of, if not THE biggest action star of all time.

Obviously, this video is just a snapshot into his career, and a few hours in his actual life given to GQ, but I really respect how he regularly lavishes praise on his coworkers, not just the actors, but how he can just whip out the names of crew members, writers, directors, special effects artists, everybody who made him the star he is today. 23:46: I remember Dino De Laurentiis is not only the owner of Total Recall, but he was also the producer of the first King Kong remake (the original released in 1933), released in 1976, and also starring Jeff Bridges. Plus, it was the debuting role of Jessica Lange.

Funny one-liners. They could have done a better job though by not showing the cable attached to Sully's ankle before Arnold dropped him. Or not filming the springboards when the bad guys get blown up in the yard fight. Or how the banged up Porsche was miraclously whole again when Arnold and Rae Dawn drove off after Sully got dropped. Other than that the movie was okay. My personal favorite are still Conan the Barbarian, Predator and all of the Terminator movies Arnold played in.

@ 9:40... it's always cool to hear actors who made a movie line iconic because it never fails that the person who said the line originally thought it was either dumb or stupid and was really ready to trash it and say something else but somehow, they kept it read it and the rest is history

i think that arnold chose his roles better than stallone did. arnold knew he wasn't the best actor but he found parts where he wasn't talking a ton and his accent didn't ruin his lines. stallone, because of rocky, thought he was better than he was. anyway, taxi driver should have won the oscar for best picture but the oscars are lame so whatever.

He has a pretty good catalog when it comes to his films. I too, love T2, but maybe some honorable mentions are Total Recall, Predator, The Last Stand, Commando, True Lies, and Jingle all the Way. Either way, Arnold is a legend not just in acting, but also a successful business man, politician, and bodybuilder.

The Robocop remake gets too much hate ... I think they actually had an interesting take on the original, and explored a few different angles that went into deeper futurist sci-fi territory. The fact that he is still acutely aware of himself throughout the whole process was extremely disturbing and also speaks about the horrors of transhumanism in a way the original didn't really go full throttle with. It's not a better movie by any means it's just different, and I can appreciate it on that level.
