Very well put, mac daddy! At his prime, from 1973 to 1975, he looked better than any other bodybuilder ever has, up until today. Regarding the photos, I think that people seeing him knew that he was special, and wanted to capture as many moments as possible of him training, as well as in more informal settings. Of course, Arnold also enjoyed posing for the camera! Truly, the greatest bodybuilder of all time!

bobba68 sergio oliva had not vascularity at all. huge body monster genetics he was like coleman huge but ugly body not enough to beat arnold in my opinion in fact olive lost against arnold twice i think

+bobba68 The only department where Oliva was better than Arnold was his very narrow midsection, but Arnold had a small and flat midsection anyway. Arnold had far better shaped arms, with much higher peaked biceps, and a more pleasing looking physique all round. Oliva was big, but he lacked definition as well as vascularity and had very flat biceps. Ask 10 bodybuilders (who are familiar with both Sergio and Oliva) who's phyique (at their peak) they would prefer to have. Most would say Arnold. Certainly some people prefer Oliva over Arnold, but many more prefer Arnold's physique. The Guinness Book of Records even has a photo of Arnold with the caption 'The Most Perfectly Developed Man in the History of the World'. Tellingly, no mention is made of Oliva.

Nobody said that every bodybuilder 'should have' peaked biceps like Beckles or Robinson for that matter, but virtually all of them would love to have arms like them, or Arnold. Just because you foolishly say 'blah, blah, blah...' does not detract from the fact that most guys would like to look like Arnold, not Sergio. There are nowhere near as many admirers of Sergio's physique as there are of Arnold's. You and a few others are in the minority, and the reason is as follows: Arnold had a superior, more symmetrical physique than Oliva. Because you are blinkered to that fact, I'll let you in on an inescapable truth known the world over: Arnold is regarded as the greatest bodybuilder of all time, NOT Oliva.

Serge Nubret who was backstage with Arnold said he saw Arnold checking his weight and it came out to be 230 lbs before the pose-off of Arnold, Serge and Lou. Frank Zane claims Arnold was 225 lbs (but, I think Zane was full of sh*t since Arnold's normal weight without any steroids and without heavy workouts was 210 lbs and there is no way Arnold was only 35 lbs heavier than the much smaller and shorter Zane).

I bet I've seen 99% of these pictures a thousand times or more over the last 20 years, but I never get tired of seeing those old black and whites from the original Gold's Gym. The 70s was just the best time in bodybuilding. I Can Only Imagine what it must have been like. The photos at 3:55 and 4:22 have been photoshopped, which is bullshit, but other than that it's a good collection of classic photos for inspiration.👍💪

GoldenEra 4ever Arnold's bicep at 3:55 is definitely photoshopped, but I don't think 4:22 is. I have seen this photo before from magazines at the time, and it is the same. I am also very familiar with all the photos and have most of the Muscle Builder/Power and Muscle and Fitness magazines from the 70's and 80's. As you say though, the 70's was without a doubt the best time in bodybuilding!
