Those grief waves will come the rest of your days unfortunately. Have to learn to ride them and some just crash on you no matter what you do. The Ali sweater looks so good can’t wait for it to come out. I love how you know what you love in color fit style and techniques. I just refines our process so much. Knowing your art and building on that. Every now and then I have to learn a lesson over again. Thanks for introducing me to Explorer Knits just placed my first order. It is going to be a problem because our aesthetics just match. Hugs tears are cleansing just embrace them. So today is my mom’s birthday 12 years since she was here.

Happy Birthday! Enjoy your time in San Diego- we just did our family vacation there. They always say that grief hits people at different times, so please don’t apologize for being in your feelings, just let them express what you need. Take care and continue to find small joys in each day 💗

Happy birthday month! Your stash is looking amazing. I'm on a student budget, so I just live vicariously through your videos for all of my yarn dreams.

I feel like that always happens on the first year. You purposely ignore or distract yourself. You have a plan. Year two you think it will be fine and it’s not. Year two was the hardest for me when I lost my dad 💗 your shirt 🥹 what a nice way to feel close to your mom. It is absolutely ok to be sad. There is no time limit on grief.

Haha. So you say summer can be a knitters time to shine too and I'm thinking, yeah I'm shining but it's all sweat. 😆

its so nice to hear that you just do regular cast off. I've always wanted to learn Italian bind off or the other ones, but I was never able to wrap my head around it.

I also reorganized my stash lately, after having a few really bad mental health days, it's incredible how much joy it brought to hold all those precious skeins that I had forgotten I loved.

Thanks so much for the info on Terrapin Fiberworks. I live in South Carolina where it is hot and humid most of the year so wool sweaters get very little use. It is often hard to find some hand dyed plant based fibers so I love finding a new source!

Happy Birthday Month to you! It's also my birthday Month and I am spending it just going through my stash and trying to use my "special" yarn on an outfit for me so yes a lot of selfish knitting is in the works. Also, "Get that sleeve behind me" will be my new anthem whilst knitting on any and all sleeves moving forward. You know that little ditty that Mike Wazowski from Monster's Inc sang "Put that thing back where it came from, or so help me!"? Yeah...in that score. Get that sleeve behind me, or so help me...so help me!" lol. Sorry. My brain just went there. I blame the time. It's 1:16am right now so I need to take my old ass to bed. haha! G'night from Hawaii :)

Happy Birthday! Just wanted to note: Not all dyers take their undyed skeins direct from their suppliers and then package them up to sell. Some dyers will take those undyed skeins and still process them the same (soaking, washing, drying, reskeining, etc) only omitting the dye step so there is still labor involved. Not all dyers will do this though, but likely, if you're seeing above wholesale prices, that is probably why (hopefully!! 😬) Your sweaters are gorgeous and I am OBSESSED with your second color choices for Ali's Sweater!

Oh gosh I had to get rid of my Lykke they were soooo sticky! I replaced them for the Knitters Pride Ginger and I also use Addis fixed but the gingers are so much smoother. I purchased a 16’’ strait needle set from Lantern Moon and they weren’t as slick as I’d prefer but maybe their interchangeable feel a bit diff.

I have the chiaogoo needles, lykke driftwood needles & the copper lykke needles already but honestly I’ve been eyeballing those lantern moon ones, I kind of wish I purchased those instead of the copper needles because I really don’t like them much 😞

To check contrast before starting your knit put your yarns next to each other, take a photo, change to black and white and see how strong of a difference you get.

I could be wrong but maybe you’re thinking about tubular cast on/ bind off?
@ashhumphrey30762 жыл бұрын
Heads up, unfortunately the finish on the lantern moon needles doesn’t last. That’s been my experience vI bought one pair of needles to try out when knitting a throw and the slick finish was gone by the time I finished knitting the blanket :(. They’re still very smooth but are not as fast and the gold paint with the size is gone

Lantern Moon needles are beautiful and super smooth the cords are great but I will caution you the join is not super smooth so you may want to just purchase one with a cord and see what you think before investing in an entire set

A tubular bind off! I also think it’s overrated, just saying. Just love all your projects as usual and often end up with more projects in my queue after it 🥰

I bought the Lantern Moon set and boy, do I agree about the ugly case. Couldn’t be any uglier. I like the needles, but the gold printing on the needles indicating the size wears off immediately. Not a huge deal, but I am not sure why they even bother. Also after a couple projects the sheen on the finish is also gone. I have had them for 3 months and we shall see how they wear.
