@@joshofili405 A word to word translation of this would never be enough or do justice to it because its poetry and to capture the true meaning and emotions of it you need to fully understand the context in what its being said. I found a some what good translation of the song. hope this satisfies you guys. (Mohabbat karnewale Kam na honge) (Teri mehfil mein Lekin ham na honge) when i would be gone, this world still would have people who would love truly, those who would write about love from the soul and create magic in the aspiring hearts of lovers. There would be everything in ur circle save me and the poetry i wrote. The love i inspire and the devotion i commenced ,so nothing would be missed yet there would be something missing ! (Jamaane bhar ke gam ya ik tera gam) (Ye gam hoga to kitne gam na honge) i sometime think that love has given me pain which sometimes is beyond endurance, but when i think about the other pains and sufferings which one has to undergo in this world i feel elated because this one pain of ur separation has distanced me from all other pains and i m not bothered about anything but this one pain which keeps me occupied all the time! (Agar tu ittifakan mil bhi jaye) (Teri furkat ke sadme Kam na honge) The pain i have endured because of ur absence is so severe. It has been burning inside me like a wakeful flame. It has never ceased and so troubled me all the time.. its so helplessly piercing that if by any chance i get to meet u right now even that joy of meeting u won't abate this deep set pain of ur separation. Even if i extend my arms and embrace you the satisfaction of union and the assurance of ur presence would not erase this pain of distance! (Dilon ki uljhane badhti rahengi) (Agar kuchh mashvare baham na honge) these troubles related to love and heart would never cease to pain the heart of lovers. These woes related to love would always burn the hearts in agony unknown to other human beings and these troubles would keep increasing if u are not careful to apply some well thought remedies for them! so before falling in this pit think about these troubles and always have some solutions ready ! (Hafiz un se Mai jitna badguma hu) (Vo muze se us kadar barham na honge) the poet says the bond between me and my beloved is a strange one. I might be keeping grudges against her because she keeps away from me . I might be dejected and hold her guilty for increasing my restlessness yet no amount of complains can make her angry with me !(Mohabbat karnewale Kam na honge)

I remember listening to this song while lying down on the floor of my room, looking at the roof....and feeling in a manner I have not felt in the longest of times. It's somehow nostalgic, romantic with a vibe of the dawn and deep midnights....watching the sunsets and listening to noises from a distance- all together at the same time! This is surreal and Arooj rightly deserves the highest of the honours for this piece of art. As for the South Asian representation, a purely Urdu song winning a Grammy is a win in itself ❤️

I’ve recently been cheated upon and left heart broken to the point where it reached to self-harm but here I am today, moving away for good, leaving behind his memories, my feelings and emotions and any last bit of love left in me here. I’m not taking any hatred with me either, I’ve finally decided to be at peace with myself and that will only happen when I let go off any feelings that I have left of him. I haven’t felt this positive in a real long time, sending love to everyone reading this. Oh! Btw it’s 2:37 am here in Canada rn. Loads of love! And positivity! 🤍

Bhaijaan.. what you wrote is cent percent true. Had a friend for 17 years. M 26 now. Proposed her last year by writing two pages. She read it in front of me and denied. It pains me that i couldn't be a part of life. Couldn't stay there as her friend. I didn't want to leave. She didn't want me to leave but i had to cz if i had stayed then i would have maybe died? I have my parents (no siblings) and i can't fail them after failing myself. I am a chartered accountant now. I am doing good financially but the void stays. Not able to talk to people. Ability to make friends has been zero. I smile all the time. Watch Kapil Sharma's show with my parents and laugh my heart out so that it seems normal to them. And i no more want to be in love. If 17 yrs of my life.. from standard 4th till now couldn't get me my desire of living life with my human, nothing can. Love is beautiful but if not received back then is the most painful emotion too. I wish she stays happy and healthy but i also wish that i never see or meet her cz i don't want my sub-consciousness to curse her ever in any situation. I won't want to compare her happy days amwith my not happy days. I wish that karm doesn't gets to her. I just want that my parents never get to know Bout cz it will make them sad somewhere. Simple people they are. I am not. I just have a wish for me - whenever i leave this world, i don't w ast to come back ever again in any form. That's it.

Translation: Number of those who love you - die for you, won’t be less. But in gathering of your confidants, I won’t be present. Whole world’s torment, and then there - a trouble of yours. Should this pain be, what other sufferings be in absence? Even if by some miracle or a coincidence - we do unite. The awe and amazement of distance won’t ever be less. Complications for hearts - restlessness will keep arising. If few suggestions and advice won’t partake in romance. Oh Guardian (“Hafiz”), no matter how much I’m self-conscious here. There, for my advances, won’t be even a hint of complain for annoyance.

I never had one ounce of doubt that this song deserved Grammy. It has everything that a beautiful song should have. Lyrics, vocals, music and pain? Too much pain! Aren't the lyrics what a broken heart can relate to? Only a shallow, surface level person would call it unworthy of recognition. Arooj, you do you!
