Never seen soldiers on duty treated so badly in any other country. People walking about with their mobiles, no wonder so many get stolen.Admit im older and prefer photo albums to mobile photos,but most of all memories stay with you . Nobody should be touching or annoying horses or soldiers on duty.

Soldiers returning during the Vietnam conflict were treated worse.
@catherinemartinez9802Ай бұрын
@@cypherknot In America the returning soldiers were cursed, called horrible names, spit it and at times had things thrown at them. It became so bad the soldiers were told to wear civilian clothes when coming home to a civilian airport. There were no brass bands or people to welcome them home. Vietnam was a very unpopular war. It was a very sad and angry time in American history. I know because I lived through times and saw it happen.

I scrapbook my photos but use my phone to take pictures and only print out the good ones. As for the tourists, so tired of them treating the opportunities to taking pictures of/“with” the guards and horses like a meet and greet at Disney World.

Only bright minds understood what I said about the white lines. The Horses and the Guards belongs to the King and they have to be protected. I don’t agree that the police are there to just protect the public from terrorist and from pick pocketers. They are there to protect the King’s facilities , his guards and his horses too. I am not even from England, and our soldiers belong to our government, and nobody in their right mind, will disrespect them, not like in the King’s kingdom. It’s like Disneyland.

As an American I choke up watching the Blues Royals Guards. The horses being so large to the guards preparing to dismount. The pagentry is beyond words. 🇺🇸❤🐎💂
@stuartmccall5474Ай бұрын
Technically, dismounting isn't pageantry, it's a standard military routine which would have been practiced during training to perfection for everyone's safety. Albeit the mounts of the Blues & Royals have traditionally been bigger and heavier than those of the Life Guards they are by most standards still big heavy beasts in order to be able to carry the "total" weight of the Trooper, his steel armour, boots, saddle and the rest of the riding tack. They form into two lines to give plenty of "safety" space. The mounts have been trained to expect the 1st "tap" on their neck as a warning of a pending dismount and to prepare to readjust their standing pose as the weight is transferred from "in the middle" to all being all on one side in the stirrup. The 2nd "tap" is to warn the mount not to move (at all) as the Trooper frees his boot from the stirrup pending jumping down to the ground and all the weight being removed. If you want to see the Troopers and mounts at play on their annual summer holidays put the following into the search box, Household Cavalry at Yellowcraig Beach Scotland 7 and 9 July 2023 It's one of the few times they can practice a line abreast cavalry charge at the gallop. If you want to see how the Troopers pull their mounts to the ground and lay still with minimum profile, Search : Musical Ride of The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment ( Evening Performance) Hope you enjoy.

So please to see the MOD police coming out of the gate . They were sadly needed a few a days ago when tourists were overcrowding /yelling & laughing, Horses very upset & both started to roam about. Luckily two mounted police women who were coming along the road took charge & dispersed the crowds. Very dangerous situation was stopped. I would imagine these two horse guards who were trying to keep the public safe had a lot to say when returning to barracks. The idiot tourists were a disgrace as they did not care as long as they got their pictures. They just carried on with their loud voices.
@Monkeybar54621Ай бұрын
It’s their job to move around and do policing, but they need somebody maybe a robing horse to disperse them. They congregate and didn’t care if the horse is being mauled by the tourist, they only come to the horse rescue when the horse is bucking everybody😂😂😂😂😂

😮😮, These poor souls have been brought up by horrible teaching since childhood by screaming and shouting when mistakes occurred. That's why made them the way they are today, by sxxxxxx back to the orders, or rules or authorities. They react by giving a middle finger or pretending not to hear anything to make you jumping and upset. This is the way they get even with their parents (we all) and pay the price for the wrong teaching without love while little. Did you see their face expressing? They are so thrilled and satisfied when they successfully make us angry (their parents' image). So, parents, this is a great opportunity to learn how not to do to give your kids a healthy, correct way to become true heroe when they grow up. Really. The roots are so, so important. Do it before it's too late to build up the gracious inner beauty (after 6 years old, it will be too late). Blessings to you all. Good luck.

This horse isn't good, he is already fed up and I don't like the sound of that coughing sound he is making, chewing his bit as well not a happy camper at all! Why are some of the tourist incapable of standing outside the line? It isn't hard to see and it isn't rocket science. No foot on the line no heel on the line no toe on the line, thanks to the crowd a lot of these people are not standing inside the box. Why would anybody think a box of white lines means stand in it. Both these horses are in quite a nervous state, too many people for the guards and horse to handle numbers need to be kept down, in fact it would be better for guards and horses if Horse Guards was not a tourist venue it is a working barracks and that is how it should be run. Don't get me wrong I adore horses and can understand to a certain extent why people want to be photographed near then and touch them, I would too but I know they are working and recognise how stressed the horses get in these crowded very noisy conditions and even though it is only a hour for them to stand in the boxes this goes against the horses nature, they like to be on the move all the time. If you have ever watched horses in the field they are hardly still moving mainly to eat the grass but also running, jumping rolling on the grass sometimes lying down. This is why the move about in the boxes and at times obviously get fed up and then act up. I do not doubt about how well they are looked after in the stable and I know they get exercised and they have the walk from Hyde Park barracks and stables. I did notice that a some of the horses when being led into the stables looked tired and down, perhaps mirroring how their guards were feeling too. Horses are very good at knowing how their riders and people around them feel, also the mood and feelings of the massive crowds around them it must be quite confusing for them feeling all of these emotions around them all at once, along with the constant very loud chatter, traffic noise traffic fumes helicopters flying low overhead nerve wracking for them constantly and daily while they are here most humans would be stressed out in these conditions too.

It’s their job to move around and not congregate and chat. That’s not what they are paid for. Police for policing, not for buddy, buddy chatting. It’s their job to protect the horse and the guards. They only come and check what is happening when the horse is bucking everybody.😂 But some of the guards are good, not all of them are just there to hold their armalites.😂…..or just for show.

These are MOD police they are there to look for anything suspicious not crowd control
@monicawarner4091Ай бұрын
@Monkeybar54621 • The armed MoD Police officers job is NOT to protect the Guards and horses, nor is it to "move around" any more than is neccessary to do their actual job...which is to maintain security at the site and protect the public from dangers including possible terrorist threats. They engage in crowd control to ensure the public's safety, which is why they stand at the front during the changeover of horses. As to why they're often seen chatting, how do you know what they're talking about? The answer is, you don't. They could be sharing information from HQ of the description of "persons of interest," or sharing information about the many pickpockets that frequent the site, or what's happening at other popular tourist sites nearby. It's really no-one's business but theirs. By the way, the white lines are not there to show the tourists where to stand to take their photographs...they form a box around the horse and its mount, which deliniates the area inside which the tourists must not stand.

These Troopers need to use their louder voices. This gentle approach doesn’t seem to get through. Why can’t they be as forceful as when they were shouting at people to let go of the reins? For Pete’s sake raise your voice and in some cases move the horse forward as a warning. Somehow some of these guards have been emasculated, so sad😢
