They are protesting because the shelter is near schools and parks. They have every right to do so in their community. Clarifying based on replies from people who like to play semantics: Their community includes NONE ASIAN as well. That specific area just happens to be populated by a lot of Chinese people, but there's a lot of europeans, Jewish and Arabs. The Chinese are just the majority who showed up like every community should when the local government is trying to disguise another migrant shelter by calling it a "single homeless men shelter". My area in Queens has seen an uptick in crime after the heavily Venezuelan majority of "asylum seekers" have been placed in shelters, a jail by La Guardia College and the hotels/motels have been used to shelter them. The mopped thefts are rampant. I've lived in this community for 30 years.

I'm from Brooklyn, USA, born & bred of Hispanic heritage and live in Sunset Park, a hood that is a mixture of Hispanics and Chinese. We have the third China town in NYC in our hood. When you see Asians, a very hard-working, family-oriented, who are great neighbors, and extremely law-abiding and peaceful peoples acting this way. You know that enough is enough. That is mayor Feckless Adam’s problem. Have them move into Gracie Mansion instead.
