Information:
After a long time responding from a temporary fire station on Dorpsstraat near the football field in Heinkenszand, the Heinkenszand Volunteer Fire Department can finally respond from their new fire station located on Guldenroedestraat. The barracks are located right along the N665 and the A58, which means that the volunteers can quickly arrive on site on the above-mentioned (highway) roads, despite their arrival time. We wish the Heinkenszand Fire Department good luck with the response from their new barracks, and we await the new barracks in the Goese Poort with a sparkle in our eyes!

In 1934, Mayor Elenbaas abolished the mandatory fire brigade in the municipality of 's-Heer Arendskerke and the 'Voluntary Fire Brigade Association 's-Heer Arendskerke' was founded. Now, 90 years later, the fire station is empty. The corps has been merged into the new post in Heinkenszand and the future barracks at Goese Poort. In recent years, a van was used to supplement the Heinkenszand fire extinguisher, but with the new barracks there, this has also come to an end.

On Thursday evening, March 28, around 8:45 p.m., a fire broke out in a house in Heinkenszand. A fire had started in the chimney of the house due to an unknown cause. With the help of a ladder truck from Goes, the firefighters went up to sweep the chimney with a ramoneur. The smoldering remains were collected in a bucket and extinguished.
