Can you reclaim your checked baggage without going through passport and visa checks if you have a layover and you don't want to leave the airport? And then, after a few hours, can you check in for your next flight?

Hi Sham, to the best of my knowledge, you will have to go through passport control inorder to reclaim your checked baggage despite staying inside airport. You'll have to follow the check-in process again before your next flight. I hope it answers your question. I have to self transfer ( re check my baggage) during transit in dubai because it's different flight companies. Do i have to do immigration and get my baggage and then go back through security? I m gonna be terminal 1 for arrival and departure. But I have to do self buggage check-in

Usually this is the process followed: If you have checked baggage, you must recheck it between flights: Collect your checked baggage at the transfer airport. Go to the baggage claim area and look for the belt with your previous flight number. Leave the transit zone and take your baggage to the check-in counter (or baggage drop) for your next flight. Dear Kavya, i am sorry i havn't taken any baggage assistance facility, however, i heard they do have porters available at baggage reclaim section, they will help you with your luggage, i think they charge somewhere around AED40 to AED100. Do let us know about it too. I hope you have a safe trip 🙂
