This is one of the movie gems that not many people know about or bother to watch. It’s was never released in the U.K. at the time I wanted to watch it, still not sure if it is released even now in the U.K. to be honest. I had to go on Amazon US and buy the Blu-ray because Amazon U.K. didn’t have it digitally for the above reasons. I’d defiantly recommend this and you have to follow carefully as the story builds. I never really get these alien invasion to take Earth's resources / enslave humanity type stories. They fall down on basic logic. 1) Why take Earth's resources? An interstellar civilisation can get all the resources they need in space. There would be no point of putting in the effort of invasion. 2) Why enslave humanity? My favorite part of the whole movie is actually one that most overlook and that's the design of the ships: they look like asteroids/space rocks. How else to better approach a planet without raising any particular extraterrestrial defense systems than to disguise your ship to look like ordinary space debris? Probably works pretty well for ambushing interstellar travelers not to mention, disappear from pursuers in any given situation. I doubt many radar/laser systems see very well through rocky ship shells.
