This was intresting. My friend and I are going to try a field day this year in my back field. When I was first licensed I went to check out the field day site and was asked if I wanted to operate 80 phone, I jumped on that because I was a tech at the time. I was left there alone all night, no one ever came back and I was told not to stop until I will relieved. I never sent back to a club Field Day. Glen`s (KD8KMY) and myself (K8OCN) are going to do a laid back field day, we will have two stations but are just going to operate for awhile and take a break and operate again ect. We will not win any awards and we do not care we are just going to have some fun. We are going to run all Battery power and during the day solar to help the battery's last.
