Being relatively new to all this RC, and having chosen the Kraton 4s - Arrma say ‘just 8 screws needed to remove front and rear diffs’ and manual gives no clue on step by step guide on how to do any of this in a sensible order. Exploded diagrams are probably useful to those who know. This is the only source of information which is absolutely invaluable for people like myself who are still learning. Thank you so much for this, I have saved to refer back to. Will sub. 👍🏻

Seriously a life saver I'm new to RC and wrenching was the most intimidating part. You make it look easy and I appreciate the video to show us beginners a thing or 2 so we don't break things lol. Would you recommend swapping out the bearing before I ever run it?

Thank you for sharing this video for the bearing replacement! You mentioned "I didn't do the bearing inside the slipper, and having done it I would recommend NOT doing it. It's not worth it and won't go bad since it's completely enclosed." I am assuming the bearing that took approx. 10 minutes to remove was one of the bearings in the slipper, but I could be wrong since I do not know anything about this truck. If the original metal shielded bearings will need to be replaced eventually, I will wait a few months before I tear the truck apart to replace all the bearings with Fast Eddy bearing kit. I bookmarked you video for future reference when the bearings need to be replaced. Take care...
@marcmonge3704
@marcmonge3704 4 жыл бұрын
No. The bearing he talked about not replacing was INSIDE the slipper. The one that's a pain and took 10min should be replaced as they wear quickly.

I could be wrong but I think there’s a bearing literally sandwiched between the slipper set. So maybe you missed one! Idk. But I am glad you shared this video. What bearing kit did you use and how are they holding up? I want a set that will be easy to repack.

@@RazorRC thanks razor and big thanks for this video! Added to rc playlist. I've never replaced bearings all round so this will be a great reference when I order the bearings this weekend! Also one last thing do you have any tips for remembering what size screws go where? I noticed you just remove and put in a pile. Is there any special way to remember what size screws go where or is it just cause your experience? Also one final question and I won't bug you lol. Should I put better oil in the diffs while I have them out? Like silicone oil instead of the grease it comes with? If yes do you have a weight recommendation? I really appreciate your help bud.

The diff shim is used for manufacturing tolerances, if it's too tight or binding move it to the other side, if not, leave it where it is.
