Is it not possible to do this without the vice and bushings?just bought one a couple weeks ago im yet to try out disassembly of the saver

You'll probably be right to just hold the arm and undo these days. At most you'll probably need the other easy methods that just press the nut into a socket etc. This method is for the early cars that had excess loctite. Cheers.

So would this be my issue if my wheels turn fine but when contact with the ground I get nothing (sorry new to this)

If the servo turns and the wheels don't, that is the servo saver operating. Most servos tolerate a stronger than stock servo saver spring setting. But you need to ensure you have a strong steel geartrain in your servo if you are going to tighten the servo saver a lot.

That did work. There are much easier methods that take a fraction of the time. You really don’t have to remove it.

The early ones had the assembly fixed solid with excess locktite. Later cars were easier.

@@Boostabeats Yeah I just put a crescent wrench on the bottom bolt, hold the top and loses it.

@@jiffylube4296 the early ones were stripping out the plastic hex when attempting that method. Seems they have had the problem sorted for a while now, and most people aren't receiving savers with excess loctite. So unless you come across an early one secondhand, the problem is a thing of the past. 👍

nicely done video, quality ! can't really understand why Arrma updated the servo saver this way but i guess they figured people don't want or need an adjustable anymore, this newer one does work well imo though with the ARA340178 spring.

Thanks mate! The adjustable design is definitely a benefit in not needing to mess with spacers etc to get the right preload, but I do get the benefit of this design, in that once you do go to the extra effort to get it right there’s no need to do it again. It’s all good I suppose. We’re spoilt for choice these days in the hobby hey! Cheers mate.

@@Boostabeats true, i know people inc myself struggled a bit with getting those extra spacers in there on this new one but after that it just works :) the previous design was not without fault with that nut slipping down without lots of loctite, my EXB came with that extra hard spring, a lot nicer imo.
