Arrma Granite Mega 4X2 Unboxing And First Run! Worlds Best Cheap RC Monster Truck?

at 52 as a kid of the 80s i had soooo many tamiyas you guys know what im talking about haha so i wanted to get back into rc ing after 35 years ...and went with arrma .... i love this arrma truck ...arrma is i think one of the best right now

Yes! These are great trucks, and I don't mind if it gets flipped, scratched, damaged...they just keep coming back for more! Check out my other video on it too...I put a Hobbywing system in it. I also converted it to 4x4...I love this truck...run it all the time. Thanks for watching!

It will be slower with the center drive shaft and front diff in...but I have a solution for that! 😁

Did you need an adapter for the deans plug? Your battery has a deans plug and I believed the truck uses an EC3 IC3.

Yes, I made an adapter for it...but I have upgraded to a Hobbywing setup, and it's also 4WD now. It has so much power and is one of my favorites to drive and bash around.

I just received my truck and out of the box the steering isn’t working. The tires do turn but only an half and inch.

Look for the Dual Rate knob on your controller...it might just say DR. That might need to be turned up. I don't remember what the SLT3 controller settings were out of the box, but that is probably the issue.

I have a Granite Boost. Im told you can get to mid/high 20s speed by changing the ESC and using 3S battery. Would love it if you could provide some insight and part numbers.

Yes, you would need an esc capable of 3s, the stock one is only rated for 2s. But, I don't think the mega motor can handle 3s, I think you would burn the motor out very quickly on 3s. You can change the pinion gear to a 16t and use a 2s lipo, that would probably get you to mid 20s. Arrma has a 17t shown as an optional part, but the motor might get quite hot using it. I actually plan on doing a video showing the challenge of getting the advertised speed on the box. I'm excited to see how that goes. I might burn out the motor, but it's all for science 😂.

@@eekrc Thanks for the input. I have a 2s Lipo, I'll take a look at that 16T. I also have a Granite BLX, I use the Boost for fooling around out in the yard and in the neighborhood, so a bit over 20mph is plenty, and I don't want to put too much money into it. It doesn't slow it down that much, but yes it does. I upgraded my motor and ESC after I converted it to 4wd. I am using a Hobbywing Max10 SCT ESC and motor in it now. I would keep it 2wd and use the lipo batteries and go brushless once you convert it to 4wd.

😂 Yes! I've upgraded it a few times since this video. It's now 4wd and has so much more power. This is my favorite RC to just grab and thrash around, I haven't broken it yet!
