Arrma Mojave and Traxxas UDR comparison - what is better?

There is often a lot of discussion about the difference between the Arrma Mojave and the Traxxas UDR and what is better
Well we bought one of each and have combined our first impressions along with unboxing
They are used so that brought its own risks but they seem good
The cars outwardly look quite similar but the concept is completely different as is the driving experience
Locked diff and trailing arm on the UDR compared with double wishbone and open diff on the Mojave

Often misunderstood by MOST; Kv is NOT Kilovolt but instead the speed constant of the motor. The formula to calculate Kv is as follows: Motor RPM Divided by The value of (Volts x 1.414 x 0.95) Many think you take the motor Kv Times Volts to get RPM at that voltage. But; because the v IS NOT VOLTS but instead the BACK EMF voltage when the motor is spun it isn't REALLY ACCURATE but it is close enough for hobby work. So if you have a 2050 KV motor you can wild guess the max RPM at your rates voltage by simply Kv (x) Volts applied. Then to make it all more confusing.... Remember the Volt rating of a LIPO is at DISCHARGE.

Yes very complicated especially when you race in classes where you can add boost and turbo to the motor via ESC settings

I want a Mohave for bashing, but man I love my UDR. I don’t do anything crazy in it though. Have zero doubts about it being as tough. But it is MUCH more scale.

The “Kv” refers to the constant velocity of a motor (not to be confused with “kV,” the abbreviation for kilovolt) 👍

On the udr you have to use the link app to put the throttle at full speed if not udr is running just 100% full speed is 120% is more faster

Great video love it only issues is the kv miss understanding and that weight difference as the vitavon upgrades add a small bit more weight but on the other hand I have seen videos with stock mojave and udr yet the mojave still won I saw that other comment he was being a total jerk traxxas fanboy I do prefer traxxas but it matters which one puts a bigger smile on face and what you prefer the ove the vid keep up the great work👍🔥👑😎

Thanks. Yes we realised the kv issues. We have been playing about with different kv in our xmaxx and explained it properly!

I prefer the UDR over the Mojave as the suspension is much more like the vehicle it was designed after. The Mojave is more like a buggy. Now im not a Traxxas fanboy as ive got 2 Arrmas as well as Traxxas, and Losi. Ive not run my UDR in quite some time as i changed out the original motor to a TP Power and the motor didnt last. Dont understand why as it was 2000 kv rather than 2200. I used original gearing so the TP motor should have been ok. Only got two runs, maybe three on the TP motor before it had a smoke show. Ive been using my Losi Super Rock Rey and my TRX4 the most as of late. All my other RCs are being shelf queens.

The weight difference makes the racing totally unfair, throw set of plastics wheels back on that udr and itll eat that Mojave or better yet grab a set of Vitavon beadlocks for the Mojave

Kv rating really has nothing to do with power really its more like RPM. a higher Kv motor will have less torque but higher max rpms, and the opposite for a lower Kv
